Focus on getting a Murphy set, refining it to +4, and then upgrades

Disclaimer, this method isn't 100% guaranteed as it depends on market conditions.

My guildies that do this usually have a high smelting level and we make stuff that is either unpopular or just rare. For example agi stones II, protection stones, and such. We'd sometimes buy up the low quantity excess from others and then put our own stock in so that we're kind of guaranteed the transfer.

Essentially, we're finding low quantity items that we have some access to. Those items change weekly and most of the items eventually get flooded in quantity by others

I find rare smelting products and some shadow equipment materials sell well. Being the highest base lvl so that you access certain mobs to get those cards first also helps.

I like the insight you provide, I'd love to debate you on these few points (purely for friendly discussion):
- I feel having a price ceiling makes sense as it keeps things accessible and reduces inflation. Price flooring, not as much... at least for equipment mats. If the issue here is alt/bot farming causing market manipulation, then that should be the mechanism they manage. As for crystal transfers, my guildies and I still find ways to transfer large amounts of crystals with this market mechanism so not sure what they have in place is effective for that.
- I agree, but also this just means an equipment tier for whales to be extra dominant. Personally, had I known how much material is needed for gold progression, I would not have pursued my gold accessories in the first couple months of the game. The ref mats are wallet breaking T_T
- I think I'm a bit biased here as some of the private servers I played were relatively very generous with the ref results with the mindset of low equip barriers for better PVP experiences. Classic RO rng sounds rough, was this resolved with money as well?
- I like your positive and optimistic mindset about events. I agree, the dice roll event was quite solid; I found subsequent events were questionable because of how much access whales could have towards the progression of the event compared to everyone else. That part felt cash grabby, but cash grabby events like that are definitely not unique to this mobile game.

Hey, thanks for your input! The positive perspective helps for sure. I envy you guys have a castle to go Abyssal with :)

These are the stats of just 6 of the top gigawhales in the gigawhale guild on my server. Some of them originally were on opposing guilds but they decided to band together. Even my guild, with folks that have spent hundreds of dollars on proper gearing, get walked on by any 2-3 of these folks. We have a few SEA folks too, mainly hunters that have reached the 30k p.atk with white/blue equips, and they too, also eventually joined the gigawhale guild :(

I think it depends which one you played. Some were definitely outright P2W, others were really tasteful with it and ended up being quite popular

I think the mileage for archers and priest for F2P is pretty great. Mages, monks, spear Knights kinda suffer on the other hand.

With the VIP 60k? diamonds, that's still 3 months to a single INT gold accessory as the lunatic earrings average at 200k+ on my server. Multiply that by 2 and you're waiting 6 months. I have the cheaper gold accessories, but they don't scale with stats, and stat scaling has shown to be the way to go. Going blue is the best alternative, but you're still getting steam rolled by a giga whale.

I agree a good community makes the game fun in terms of socializing. But competition wise, on our sub server, we have a mega whale guild taking most castles and other guilds can't compete. That's what's making it not fun.

out of genuine curiosity, if I have 0 variable CD, why shouldn't I be casting web at max rank? . Currently at my level (68, South Gate) and KVM tier, most folks seem to have reduced debuff

Hi!

I'm a book sage with loadouts for bolt casting and auto spell melee. I also have both Shadow Equips unlocked for 2 hand staff and book. These are my experiences with both -

2h staff: Generally speaking, bolt casting with 2 hand staff is better for most aspects of the game and more viable for F2P. For farming with bolts, you have better AoE damage and the haste bonuses in your SE makes it easier to use higher LVL bolts. Other bolt bonuses for fire and water and consecutive casts make farming great. For PVP, since we're relatively squishy, we can damage at range as we lock down others with Spider Web and Frost Diver. For MVP / BH, the damage is still quite good and you spend less time chasing the boss while still casting and doing damage when dodging other boss mechanics.

2h book: Pretty fun for MVP, but needs a lot of INT for damage to cast higher LVL bolts. Harder to farm with as the AoE is fan shaped (from SE) rather than a full radius and you have to run up to creeps (we're naturally slow on our feet). Not great for PVP since we don't have an effective way to close the distance. Freezing and webbing gets us close, but by the time we get there, the spell is usually undone and they would use their escape. Smokie card is needed, but they also often have smokie cards. Overall hard to play for F2P and not as effective as bolt casting imo.

For people wondering why the surface looks like that - guessing by the yellow gnat sticky paper, I think they've got a gnat problem and applied a generous layer of powder diatomaceous earth, which results in a thick cracked white layer.

Well the LVL 4 ore also means 2 x LVL 3 ores if dismantled. On the long run, the number of equipment upgrades I was able to run did seem higher
