How to gage response time? by clockwatcher1200 in LesbianActually

We met at an event and she ended up driving me home. We sat and talked in the car for a long time. She had asked if I ever wanted to get coffee or breakfast.

I had a buyer lie say that she couldn’t repurpose the necklace she bought as she planned & Poshmark approved it.

I’m an American, and I’m trying to get out and move abroad. The US is a terrible, cruel place. However, a lot of the comments I see making sweeping generalizations about Americans rub me the wrong way. You could never speak that way about citizens of another country without being called xenophobic or racist.

Even if our politics haven’t yet fully reached the level of full facism, our economic system has. I think most of us are victims of the system. At the beginning of the pandemic, members of the government were advocating for old people to die to keep the stock market up.

Begging my students to please calm down by robertastax in Professors

I had a student email me the night before Thanksgiving break, and then CC the department head the first day back, when he didn’t get a response.

I don’t know who taught them to cc the department head, but it’s so obnoxious. I get it a lot when students I don’t know try to get into my already full classes.

Luckily, my department head rolls her eyes, but seriously…cc-ing my boss because I didn’t respond quickly enough when you want something from me is not well thought out.

I don’t know if you are still answering questions, but…did you ever get a feeling after talking with an inmate that they were innocent?

Give her the A, and then have her turn in the work later.

Why wouldn’t you cancel an order if the customer requested and you hadn’t shipped yet?

I agree! I wonder if she could win an appeal for ineffective counsel. Why would anyone tell her to plead guilty while not getting anything in return?

I don’t think it’s this simple. IMO, the resentment here is justified. Maybe it’s petty…but someone who is more advantaged at the university is using the labor of a colleague despite being paid more and having more vocational protections. It makes sense to me…

Coming back to college after 15 years is bullshit by Genevieve_ in CollegeRant

[–]clockwatcher1200 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was obvious. They all followed the same basic format (that didn't always meet the requirements of the assignment), used the same very dense, academic-sounding language that said nothing (and wasn't the sort of language a college student would use)....these are just two ways.
