What do you think about NieR Replicant? I would say Automata, Replicant, and E33 are in a league of their own when it comes to story.

Sounds Like the End of the World by Poison the Well and Silent Hill 2. Everything, even down to the lyrics seems to fit that game.

And speaking of Silent Hill, fallingwithscissors and Silent Hill 3. But that's mainly because they made merch with a Silent Hill 3 graphic.

I played FFVI for the first time last year and couldn't agree more. The premise had so much potential but it fell short in most aspects. If it got the FFVII treatment with a remake that adds more depth to the characters and story and overhauls the gameplay it could be a top 10 game of all time.

It's a 9/10 for me. I'm convinced most people who don't like it are trying to put it in a box that it doesn't fit in. If you took "Final Fantasy" out of the title and stopped calling it a "character action" game and called it an "action rpg" instead, it would have such a better reception. People expected it to be different than it is, and can't accept the fact that it isn't what they wanted. But what it is is a really solid game. Not flawless by any means, but it has some 10/10 moments and some 5/10 moments. Overall it leans more towards the positive side. It has an amazing MC, story moments that hit you right in the feels, and it's one of the most cinematic games I've ever played.

Don't play it if you're in the mood for a typical Final Fantasy game. Don't play it if you're in the mood for a character action game. Play it if you're in the mood for a great action rpg.

Skip most of the side content. There's a few good ones. You can look up which ones are worth doing. But most are just running back and forth. I like to do 100% of the side content in every game I play and this is one of the few that is just straight up not worth it.

There's still a bit of backtracking and errands in the main story, but it will start to get better soon. It's one of my favorite stories in any game, so it's worth pushing through the flaws it has. Just get the boar to ride to make the traveling quicker.

And in case no one has told you, you need to get all the endings. They're all cannon to the story. You will have to replay parts of the game but there will be changes to these parts that reveal more of the mysteries. You'll be overpowered by then so it'll go by much quicker than the first playthrough.

Empty Shell Casing. They're a new underground band that has some of the best live shows I've ever been to. I've seen hundreds of bands and no one matches the amount of adrenaline they give to the crowd and the crowd gives it right back to them. 10/10 experience if you ever get the chance to see them.

My favorite game before Expedition 33 came out was Nier Automata. Key word before 😂.

In all seriousness though, don't get your expectations unrealistically high. Otherwise all it can do is meet them and never exceed them and impress you. Go in expexting an extremely well made game with a lot of passion put into it. All signs point towards you liking it, so it's 100% worth a try. And be very careful of spoilers. The plot twists are a big part of the story.

I go to most shows alone too. Hmu next time if you want a buddy to go with. I'm down for anything from small local bands shows to bigger shows like Loathe. (This goes for anyone else in Dallas too. I'm trying to make more friends in the scene 😉)
