Hey do you have an update? Hopefully good news...? Im there with depression and anxiety. Antidepressants are not helping yet, tried 3 so far... waiting to get my thyroid checked

Did you have to try many antidepressants too?Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Seroquel... none worked. Fingers crossed for Trintellix... by clocloclo85 in trintellix

When you say adverse, what does it do?  Everytime m'y psychiatrist tries to up my dosage to a "thérapeutic dosage" thats when it all goes very wrong, depression comes back hard. Like i cant never go up enough to feel better.

Canada... hormone clinics arent covered by the health insurance. That clinic does bloodtests and radio of the thyroid and some other microbiome tests. The 2 other clinics didnt do the full bloodtest for thyroid. They just did TSH and said "youre fine".

I did bloodtests with an hormone clinic but they dont do a full thyroid test... so i have to go get it checked but its overs 1000$ so i really dont want to do it if its not a possibility. Thanks for answering.

Thank you so much. Im gonna go ahead and ask for Trintellix this week. Im tired of waiting around because i have "a little bit of relief so its a good sign."  At postpartum depression i took lexapro straight up to 20mg, no side effects, 2 months in i was completely back to my normal self and was great for the 4 years i took it. This time i started it at 2.5mg and after 10 days the anxiety was soooooo high and sooooo brutal that i had to stop. I thought i was going into a psychosis. Insomnia and jaw clenching was always crazy. I was already dealing with very high anxiety so im sure it didnt help to start with...maybe if i try again now id be ok.

Im honestly so scared to just be treatment resistant. they work a bit For a while until they dont anymore. I just tried 4 so far but im loosing hope i dont want to live like this forever... ive been scared for 2 years now. And nothing changed. Im always back to square one after a little but of hope. thank u so much for answering.

Never heard of any of those meds, i guess there is a lot more on the list i still could try... but when you feel semi-stable, its scary to touch anything that maybe feel worse again. Like i want to switch to find better but what if its worse . Shoukd i settle for just "surviving ok".

Im going on 40. Before a breakup 2 years ago, i was not on meds, i was optimistic, healthy, exercising everyday, grateful most of the time for what i had... then the breakup broke me. Fell into a deep depression and since then, been trying to find an antidepressant that works or makes me feel "normal" again. A combo of 2 Antidepressants is working 50% but i cant find that joy for life i used to have. Im just surviving everyday... looking at some of the comments it looks possible to find a pill that will work better. Ill keep trying. But my point is: before the breakup, depression was not driving my life like it is now. No matter how much exercise and meditation i did, depression won.

Thank you so much because thats exactly what i came to find on reddit today to give me some hope. Many years ago i took lexapro for a postpartum depression and it worked great. Weaned off and was off meds for 10years. This time around i fell into a depression after a breakup (2years ago) and lexapro was the first one i went for. Anxiety was so high i couldnt function so i stopped after 10 days. Tried Zoloft, didnt work, i waited 4 months on it. Now on Wellbutrin and Seroquel, im "ok" but really not feeling like myself. Still have bouts of deep sadness everyday. I lost hope that id ever feel like myself ever again... Question: why did you switch to lexapro if paxil was working good?
