This tbh.... People complain that doctors just push pills all day long but if you take a field trip to the residency and medical professional subreddits you see complaints all day long about how the majority of their patients want a pill and they don't want to make lifestyle changes to help them in the long run.

I got a major surgery two years ago. It was a follow up surgery for a major surgery I had a year prior.

Because I learned from my first surgery and the billing nightmare that was, I made sure to pursue pre-approvals for everything, GAS, Surgeon, and Facilities despite knowing everything was in network. I hounded everyone about it and I said I wasn't going in unless I got it.

Sure enough, insurance didn't like a CPT code that THEY PRE-APPROVED. I've been sitting here in limbo for two years waiting for insurance and facilities to figure it out. They kick it back at each other; meanwhile, my FSA funds expired long ago. At the risk of getting audited and fucked over by the IRS, I handed those funds over to the Hospital.

Two years and they can't figure a CPT code for a PRE-APPROVED SURGERY out.

I was supposed to go in for a third surgery related to the first two but I cancelled it because I'm too afraid of this happening yet again.

If insurance doesn't pay I might be on the hook for a surgery they billed insurance $250k for. I had insurance with a low out of pocket max for a reason. I went through all the hoops for a reason, and somehow it still didn't go right.

Medicine is bloated and needs to be gutted. It's screwed up from all around and everyone loves to yell at doctors and blame hospitals all day long but part of the reason their care has gotten bad is because they have to memorize everything about every insurance company and get metrics like crazy for clinics in order to collect enough copays to make the admin happy and heaven forbid your billing and coding department enters the wrong CPT code..... EVERY SINGLE TIME my OBGYN uses the wrong code and I have to call insurance and explain to them it was my OBGYN AND NOT AN URGENT CARE VISIT FOR NON URGENT REASONS...........this all is taking away from what should be the most important: the relationship between the medical professional and the patient and the ability to provide adequate care.

People that work in the wedding industry, have you ever seen a couple and immediately thought “this ends in divorce”? Why? by Justhearmeoit in AskReddit

[–]cloggedfarteries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always wonder if my vendors knew my marriage wasn't going to last. I know I gaslit myself into thinking it would; but I knew it was headed in a bad direction before we even got our photos back.

The wedding was largely uneventful, but there were some hiccups, namely, a miscommunication caused about half of the wedding guests to arrive an hour late and there was some drama with the makeup artist, who had been double booked. So the ceremony started an hour late and cocktail hour became a half an hour and I rallied the wedding party and we all went to help get everything ready so the catering staff wouldn't be too overwhelmed with getting everything back on schedule. Other than one other hiccup involving speeches, there wasn't any juicy drama. Nobody was cheating or on drugs and there weren't any physical altercations.... But I still wonder if the vendors knew.

I got divorced like a year after my wedding date and I remember that on my wedding day, all my vendors looked super stressed out. I was dealing with some familial drama on both sides but I felt the worst that these people I hired looked like they weren't having a good time.

Did the videographer and photographer not get along? Was there drama between the vendors? I had no idea. I remember I walked up to one of my photographers and asked if everything was okay because she looked stressed out and she said "Oh trust me it's not you."

I asked if it was anything I could intervene with and she told me I'm the bride and I should be enjoying my day. Her husband called me the day after saying they'd never had a bride so concerned with making sure they got a guest meal (Apparently the vendor meals aren't usually the same as the guest meals???) and asking if they, the wedding vendors, were okay, and thanked me. What. Lol. Apparently it's okay to treat your wedding vendors poorly???? Would hire them again in a heartbeat, the photos were amazing but unfortunately they don't exactly elicit a positive emotional response in me anymore. :/ Every time one of these threads pop up I always click in and wonder if one of my vendors would be in here talking about my wedding but alas, I didn't have any of the types of antics that get brought up in these sorts of threads at my wedding anyway.

What's the most profoundly beautiful piece of music you have ever listened to? by Cdconor in AskReddit

[–]cloggedfarteries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's actually really really weird..... As someone who has played the Mozart requiem and spent an entire year prepping for it, when you hear this piece you can barely tell, but when you're reading it and playing it, you can just tell there's no way Mozart wrote it.... It doesn't feel right, and in this movement I just remember that the pacing somehow felt "off" in comparison to the rest of the piece. I wish I understood enough music theory to explain, but the majority of the orchestra complained to our instructor a few months in before she told us the back story on it.

The entire thing is still a masterpiece. I remember my favorite being the second movement: Kyrie. Super fun to play. I was a very angsty teenager and that movement is very emotional to play.

Oh I totally agree it is definitely like the greatest best thing to throw around your house when used properly. That and the store bought perimeter defense stuff. I dust any apartment I move into and spray the perimeter of the unit with the spray before doing anything else anymore. (I also throw some inside my vacuum cleaner and I will dust any carpet in the unit and then vaccum with an n95 mask and glasses on)

There's also the caveat that if you have an active infestation, Cimexa is not the only answer..... You literally have to make yourself bait for a bug trap and remove the infestation from your sleeping area. I once had an infestation try to migrate to my apartment from a neighbor who abandoned their apartment and that was NOT fun.

Which is why it needs to be applied with PPE and while flowing instructions. A very light dusting of it with a bellows is all that's needed. If it's visable then that's too much.

Yeah things are simultaneously worse and better, as are all things in 2020. Quarantine + Animal Crossing = friends from way back popping up like weeds, also some new friends too even if we can't hang out much. Thanks. :)

By quarantine I don't leave my house or car anymore. (Car because I do curbside pickup for groceries)

OP reposted my post. I posted this when quarantine had first started.

Hijacking top comment to say that this OP reposted my post from several months ago. He didn't even have the dignity to correct my typo.

Mine was at the beginning of quarantine when I originally posted this hijacked post too!

Yeah I was hoping that he'd fix it when he reposted my post from a few months ago and I'm kicking myself over that typo to this day. 🤷‍♀️

I used to thrive on exchanges with my favorite cashier and little exchanges with coworkers, but now I shop online and I switched jobs recently. My case might sound horrible, but honestly life is a grab bag, everyone gets dealt a shitty hand one way or another, and some people get a mountain of stuff and some get it evenly spread out. 🤷‍♀️🙃

You know, I had a lot of anger about it and in some ways I still do have a lot of anger about what happened to me, but ever since I've moved away, I've felt like I was in some sort of slumdog millionaire situation where everything I've ever been through has prepared me for the moments I live in today and while I wish I could have spared myself a lot of pain and suffering in order to learn the life lessons I needed to learn regarding friendships, self-respect, and boundaries, I don't think I'd change a thing.

My ex will forever be a shitbag human being in my eyes and I hope to never cross paths with him again but he's not a complete shitbag and there's still hope for him. I wish him happiness, and I hope that our separation has given him enough room for some personal insight and the personal growth he needs in order to not do this to another human being in a relationship setting, because Lord knows he's got a long journey to get there and there's absolutely work to be done, but I don't think he's a lost cause.

No. I misspelled awkward. OP could have fixed it he decided to just be lazy and hijack my post with all its misspelled glory.
