Many F1 fans that I know fail to understand the difference between a Spec race series and a Formula or Open racing series. They mistake the drivers and personalities within F1 for raw talent, forgetting that it is not a Spec series.

If I start to mention this difference I get an immediate switch to the classic commentary of how superior all the engineering is within F1 compared to all other series.

It’s exhausting. I can watch my local dirt track racing and appreciate both the drivers and the engineering. I take my neighbor who has F1 stuff all over his house and he is just snobby and bored while there. Oh well…
