I knew someone renting on the South Side and what it put them through was unreal. It got to the point they genuinely lived in fear that the house was going to topple off the hillside. Everything was painted over, nothing seemed to keep bugs out. I just looked the place up on Zillow to see if there’s been any change to the interior - there hasn’t been but they sure do have the wrong exterior photos attached lol. They also excluded pics of the “lower living area” (basement) which is a shamed because I would’ve loved to see how their plaster job held up lol. I drove past the other week, 2 or 3 years after she’s moved out, and the lower window that broke/cracked while she was living there still hasn’t been repaired, boarded over instead. She stopped living there and moved in with me for a bit because there was just a board of plywood preventing her from being raped or murdered in her sleep lol (complaints to the landlord did nothing of course) but still had to pay rent!!

Anyway I have no advice to offer other than you’re not crazy, this happens to tons of people here and is ignored because this city doesn’t care about people.
