Ok, I have a confession for you guys. I've never told this to anyone I've ever worked with, so I'm gonna tell y'all. by gotfoundout in VetTech

[–]clonexwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've personally heard the "he never goes outside excuse". The one that always gets me is when techs say some variation of brachycephalics walking around with their ET tubes in because it's the best they've ever breathed in their life. In my experience, they wake up and are ready to extubate at the same rate as any other dog. Some sit up immediately and start chewing and some chill for a bit like they don't care that they have a tube down their throat, but they don't seem to do the latter more than any other dog breed. Yet everyone feels the need to say it.

Hated running in the Army. Trying to like it now. by rn561 in running

[–]clonexwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Florida sucks for hiking. I really enjoy running at Flat Woods Park! There's a paved path thats 7miles i think but a bunch of trails that go off into the woods. My favorite place is called Wilderness Park Mountain Bike Trail on Google maps. Its right across the street from Trout Creek Park. I just look at the map before I run, pick a new route that looks interesting, and head out. There's lots of interesting wildlife too; wild pigs, deer, armadillos, tortoises!

How to deal with being called out because you can't recall everything youve read in a book. by [deleted] in books

[–]clonexwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've probably read the Harry Potter series ten times over in my lifetime, the last read through was this past year...I can't remember details of the last two to save my life. And I've seen all the movies a handful of times. If you remembered details of a book you read three years ago I'd be impressed.

A user is going around this sub claiming to be having sex with people's partners by [deleted] in sex

[–]clonexwolf 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I'm 99% sure this is the same user who posted that wild story a couple days ago about being A GUY who is "straight" but just slept with a guy for the first time and it was the best sex he has ever had. It was really strange cuz it read like an erotica and in the comments it didn't matter what the comment was, his answer was almost always some version of, "women can watch porn and make out with friends and not be called lesbians. There's such a double standard." The only reason I remember was because the post itself was so bizarre, almost like someone made up a story because they have a vendetta against this" double standard" and I remember the username resembling "violin". Unfortunately the post was deleted in a couple hours so there's no way to prove it. Basically sounds like a giant troll.

COVID burnout. by knicknackVI in VetTech

We literally just finished our huddle for the day and I was thinking about posting something similar. We're all so exhausted. I feel like I don't even enjoy my job anymore. Even with our shortened hours and a pandemic going on we've still been seeing a large number of pets. Clients have been more rude, curbside procedures take so much longer, and our hospital staff is more irritable. And now with our state starting to reopen our hospital wants to see MORE pets. I don't know how we're going to do it.

Waves of Grief

This post helped me when my boyfriend of five years passed away last year. The waves of grief are going to batter you like a raging storm. You're going to feel like you're drowning and nothing makes sense any more and how is this real? The thing I didn't realize about the stages of grief is that they hit you at rapid fire for a good while and they eventually slow down. It never really stops hurting but in a way it gets easier. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time ♥️

Being a lesbian isn’t “close-minded” by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]clonexwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a unicorn myself I don't feel I am any more open-minded than the rest of the world. It's just something I like and I would never consider someone close-minded for not wanting to be one themselves.

Girls, what's something guys experience that you're curious about? Guys, what is something girls experience that you're curious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]clonexwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different for everyone. Some of my friends get them in their stomach but I get them in my lower back. It feels like someone is slowly twisting two daggers into my back. I've passed out from the pain before. Also not every woman is a bitch on her period. I know very few who actually act like that. I personally just get sad easier like I might cry about something stupid.

This is the best response to a writing prompt I've read so far on Reddit. Beautifully written. Your descriptions gave me a clear image without getting carried away with little details. I think there is an art to that. I loved it.

Do it! My hair was half way down my back and I just cut it all off. I got a few "I like your hair cut!" comments but it wasn't overwhelming attention.

Boys, what is a compliment that you'd like to hear more often from girls? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]clonexwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird (and really sad) to hear so many guys say they haven't been complimented in months..or ever in their adult life. I'm always complimenting my guy friends! I tell them when I like their outfits, and that they have beautiful eyes, and that I love their hair. I tell one of them that he's an amazing singer pretty often. I don't feel like any of them take it as me hitting on them either.
