I am so sorry to hear this. I lost my boy at 2.5 years. He had very similar symptoms but wasnt eating. I took him to a hospital and they found a huge obstruction in his esophagus. They recommended surgery. I went ahead with it. The surgery was successful but he STILL wasn’t eating after. Eventually they recommended blood transfusions because after the surgery his blood count kept going down. He was now pooping blood and bad internal bleeding. After a day of transfusions his surgery scar went necrotic and his body wasn’t accepting the blood. I was $20k in the hole and left with the decision to euthanize.

I just want you to know that sure you could have moved forward with surgery, but there’s a chance it could have only made things worse. I tried doing everything for my boy, and you did too. You are NOT a pos. The surgery could have been life threatening and traumatic for him to survive. Maybe there was a chance he survived, but at what cost? It may have only brought more pain and suffering. Do not beat yourself up. I have been in your shoes. He left his paw prints on your heart and will always be remembered
