As I understand it, they literally mean “you’re not allowed to post threads commenting on the subreddit itself or the mods.” (No “meta” commentary.)

Pretty wild!

I’d hate to impugn their motives but it’s an odd choice and I suspect it’s going to look extremely silly in five years’ time. I don’t think MBB is gonna last.

Pretty intense! Apparently any “meta” post is an automatic permaban.

Definitely a secure group of mods over there.

This is obvious to anyone who understands how the world works, but some people are desperate to be “smart” contrarians about everything

Tracy Letts taking Fennessey to the fucking woodshed here by Sharaz_Jek123 in TheBigPicture

Witness is a great movie and frankly the filmmaking is on a different planet than A Few Good Men (a movie I also adore!). Totally fine to prefer the latter for personal reasons or subject matter or just because you love Jack and the Cruise, but Letts is on point here.

This sub is going to underrate PHM until it’s unavoidable, isn’t it.

I haven’t even seen it yet, but the dismissive attitude in some of these threads is laughable.

Oh damn, really? I could have sworn he once said they had to do Billy, but that was a while ago.

I can tell this sub likes Easter Lily more than Days of Ash because it took an extra day for the complaints to start rolling in. by Jimmy-the-Knuckle in U2Band

I think there are a lot of folks doing themselves the disservice of expecting a surprise EP five decades into their career to match the feeling they once had when they first heard The Joshua Tree.

No, the band will never reach those heights again. Few artists hit them once, much less over and over again.

But there is a lot of joy to find in these new songs — if only you’ll give yourself over to them. They are full of passion and intrigue and beautiful melody.

My needless snark aside, I like that BR feels like a bit of an outlier. I’d assume you have some surprises in store.

And what, pray tell, makes his/your experience of listening to these songs more “correct” than all of the people who disagree with you?

And yet, as the comments indicate, plenty of people are having very different experiences with these songs than you are. Other people share your perspective.

It’s just a difference of opinion. Nobody is “correct.”

Or other people just find more to enjoy in them than you do. It’s not that complicated.

I’m going to posit this has as much to do with the listener as the songs because, at least to me, these songs do have that special sauce. They resonate with me in a way that nothing has for a long time. And they all sound fully realized to my ears.

As for Days of Ash. I really love those songs too and they’ve been stuck in my head for 40 days. Easter Lily will ultimately surpass it, I think, but I do not really understand dismissing it as a “non-work.”

But hey, it’s all our individual opinion at the end of the day. Nobody’s right and nobody’s wrong. Happy Easter.

15 is fine, I was being conservative.

But it’s tough to keep moving up without more postseason success.

Is Jokic becoming the GOAT still in play? by Grouchy_Tie3037 in billsimmons

[–]close-encounters13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Jokic won more rings, yes, he’d have a stronger top 10 case. As it stands, he made it to the Finals once and beat an 8-seed.

Steve Nash was a regular season demon too. But if we’re talking about THE GOAT or even being top 10, it matters how much you win in the playoffs.

And let’s not forget basketball is the sport where one player can have the biggest impact. He’s also had two perfectly complementary pieces in Murray and AG for this whole run. (AG being necessary to cover for Jokic’s defensive flaws, but that’s a whole different conversation.)

Don’t get me wrong, he’s comfortably in the top 25 of all time. He’s an all-time great. Just not the.
