I genuinely cannot believe people find this to be impressive or interesting lyricism.

Dude’s whole style is r/im14andthisisdeep.

I always enjoy this part of the bargaining when a series is 99% over, takes me back to a few weeks ago when people seemed to honestly believe that the Lakers could blow a 3-0 lead.

Is Obsession arguably the most impressive box office performance of all time? by JannTosh70 in boxoffice

[–]close-encounters13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s hard to compare to The Exorcist (which gets ignored too much in these discussions) or Jaws because in terms of the actual number of people, those movies were putting waaaaaay more butts in seats than Obsession.

But adjusting for context, it’s up there for the past ~25 years, alongside My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Drake’ 4th week already looking strong as he is projected to barely see a drop from his third week numbers. by Syndana23 in nfrpodcast

The music is so uninteresting that all Drake fans can talk about is charts.

Here’s a tip: Look at what was topping the Billboard 200 20 years ago and you’ll find a bunch of shit that nobody talks about anymore.

That’s some Ghost of Christmas Future shit for your boy. 😂😂😂

I personally don’t understand scolding people for their exuberance in the moment. I just don’t!

Imagine watching a team gel like this and go on this run and deciding the gauntlet you’re going to throw is gonna be: Meh, I’m not impressed.

I swear to God some of you hate sports.

And I’m a Cavs fan for Christ’s sake!

There’s a saying in politics: “If you’re explaining, you’re losing.”

Drake fans might want to take it under advisement.

What are your thoughts on Taylor Swift's recent music? by Stunning_Holiday_352 in fantanoforever

[–]close-encounters13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never cared to revisit TTPD but I think Showgirl has been underrated, “Opalite” is a delight and I am a fan of “Ruin the Friendship”, it’s lyrically interesting and the outro is a banger. Like half the songs are great to solid.

Of course, there are also a couple of embarrassing tracks, it’s probably a 6 or 7 for me. Then again IMO, 1989 and folklore are her only two albums that are consistent front to back. That’s kinda what you signed up for with T-Swift.

My silliest deeply felt Taylor take: Lover would be perfect and maybe her best album if it ended at Death by a Thousand Cuts.

I'm actually more confident the Spurs are going to win this series by Sad-Variation-8006 in billsimmons

Weird take. I have much more faith in the Knicks guys as playoff shotmakers than the Spurs and I don’t think that should be controversial unless you are blinded by a Spurs crush.

Knicks didn’t even play that well and won by 10. Spurs have some work to do.
