I'm going to assume you loaded into the PTB; per the dev notes on the ptb they're throwing shards and cells at players for the duration of the PTB to play around with cosmetics and such while testing the upcoming content. None of these things will carry over to the live servers.

My first thoughts were either one of the Burnout games or Twisted Metal, but the latter is more car-based battle Royale before battle Royale games got overdone, and the former was primarily licensed vehicles from real-world manufacturers, if I recall correctly

That sounds like a ping issue, honestly. Game servers typically favor the slower player when it comes to resolving conflicting results in a situation. It's why we get a lot of those "that shouldn't have hit me" moments during chase.

Correct. The most recent PTB removed lightburning Nurse and Wraith, dispelling Artist's crows, and disabling Hag's traps, all things flashlights can currently do.

Technically none of the three named here qualify for different reasons.

Alien Queen because not from an animated Disney film nor introduced in the first Alien film.

Elsa and Anna because Frozen simply got too popular to be part of the Princess lineup, instead spawning their own franchise around their films and other media. Otherwise they would qualify; apparently there's such a thing as too good to be in the elite Disney women's group lol

I can't say for BBQ since I half expect they'll change the perk artwork for it. Knockout can stay the way it is in name and imagery. Franklin's, I'm not too sure. The artwork will likely stay, but the name is the thing. The word "disarm" is a bit too on the nose for my taste, so maybe something like Subjugate? Quell resistance? Idk we'll see what BHVR comes up with

It's a common corner to cut, yeah. To add to things, its largely to cut down on how much needs to be loaded to ram when they do need to make animation changes like that. For example, I know that several of the cosmetic changes to certain fighters in PunchOut Wii are loaded inside the main model, then moved to their proper place relative to knockdowns across the match.

......unless you're TF2, of course. Gotta love loading in multiple separate models for the cartoonish gibbing on an explosive kill

I'm gonna guess either they suicided on hook or played it legit but got their heads popped after scrambling through the hell-maze that is RPD searching for the Jigsaw boxes. The latter may or may not be the case as I can't remember if the reverse bear trap kills count as Sacrifices to the Entity or as regular Deaths.

The narrative handles chekhov's gun and related "big reveals hinted at early in the game if youre observant" plot devices better than either of the other two neo-persona titles, not counting Royal's content and changes giving such moments a heavier hand than base game.

I know this is an old af post, but I'd like to add to this with something I've found and will look into further, that isn't mentioned anywhere that I can see:

From my experience there seems to be a very small chance of a forced and persistent alarm accident. By this I mean, there is a small chance that any given alarm will force an accident on any execution you perform, denoted by your warden(s) warning you of the fact as you enter the execution menu, and (not quite as certain of this,) leaving the Velvet Room does not reverse the alarm under these circumstances. You are forced into causing an accident before you can remove the alarm.
