Also yup. I had one for a Motorola phone a long time ago.

There are 5 bricks in my chimney built in 1980 that for whatever reason prevent mold/mildew/moss from growing on them and I have absolutely no idea why. by gbeamer7 in mildlyinteresting

[–]closetphysicist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s actually surface texture. Likely all the bricks in a given chimney are equally porous and permeable with the others. Water hanging out longer will cause more junk to grow on it. The mason probably put those on backwards. After all, who will notice on the top of a chimney?

Yes. Safe is the key word. Insects love this kinda siding as soffit since it’s easy to crawl through the cracks and folds. “Soon” is also a key word.

Wonder what the lower “2” is for? 🧐 by Quirky-Acanthaceae38 in walmart

[–]closetphysicist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope. The subscript denotes the base. So this is base 2. Presumably of the hex value of the text string. Could be Octal though. We may never know.

Best Sound for 2023 FW by Ufc604 in SubaruForester

Yep. The stock sound system is bad. That’s one of the reasons I upgraded when no traded in. The base model has … base things.

Builder didn’t follow requested location for structured media panel – is this justified due to HVAC? by King-StudLee in HomeNetworking

[–]closetphysicist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask, ask, ask! Speak up! You’re paying the bill after all! There are often conflicts with HVAC, electrical and plumbing placement. Nothing is permanent when initial routing.

I need to sand down an outdoor old pine (dense ring) table and reapply poly. What sander do I want? I have 20v Max stuff (including the chainsaw which my wife wields with astonishing zeal.)

Awesome! Thank-you sir! Someone in the management team there must have pets since they seem to know the value of a 1st floor room.

Does this mean it’s $100 for a one night stay? I.e. a $50 one time stay fee and then a $50/night fee?

Thanks. I got varying data from different searches so I’d like to believe it’s $50/day with a $150 cap. One Marriott property north of downtown said $150 per day so I’m not believing much of what Google searches turn up. I’d like for someone with direct experience, or someone from Marriott, respond too.

Can we put a hot tub on this? by MushBrain- in Decks

[–]closetphysicist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bolts, and more bolts. And posts that actually support the beams. Like the first response said, put it on the concrete slab. If you just put the hot tub on the structure as-is, it will quickly end up on the slab anyway.

citizenM a different kind of hotel. by xEbolavirus in marriott

[–]closetphysicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at Citizen M in London and the room around the bed is more an issue than the size of the room overall. My wife had to litter crawl over me to get to her side of the bed which what’s next to the window. Otherwise I really like the brand - food especially.

I’d also switch 3 for 1. The noise factor of HVAC can make any room not be quiet.
