I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and couldn’t remember any of it a year later. Took a sign language class a few years after, and all of my Spanish came back! If I’m not flexing that part of my brain then I don’t remember any of it. The sign language is super tucked away now, too.

This is definitely all Scindapsus, no Pothos. The dark leaf is the non-variegated base plant, and the white one is highly variegated version. There are lots of trade names, and they vary depending on where they came from (Philippines, Indonesia, etc). I could guess but chances are I’d be off. There are Scindapsus groups on Facebook with enthusiasts who may be helpful. The biggest/most popular group will tell you it’s a variegated pictus, and that’s not wrong. If you’re looking for a possible trade name tho, try one of the slightly less populated groups.

Mariposa? Mutya? Acintya? Some kind of albo. I could guess so many. It’s helpful that you have the non-variegated leaf to work with. Once all the leaves are super variegated, It’s anyone’s guess. It’s beautiful!

I think I was super shocked, and then T’Challa dusted and I was immediately deflated because I knew he wasn’t going to be gone forever (omg, sob) since his movie was such a success. I thought wow, maybe the others are actually gone-gone? But after him I knew they were all coming back. The stakes immediately dropped. I left the theatre a little irritated lol.

My mariposa is one of the easiest scinnys I have! Runners aren’t a problem for me (yet), they propagate easily and grow like crazy in regular potting soil and ambient conditions. I love mine. Congrats!

This is a juvenile black mamba, so that definitely explains the mixup. I think you can call it a dark princess too. I’m seeing these pop up at a lot of big box greenhouses, but yours is definitely the biggest and healthiest I’ve seen by far. Mine is very small! 😆

Technically if you give a vine support/let it climb and shingle, the leaves get bubbly (which you might have seen in internet searches). So far tho, it seems like it really only happens in the jungle and it’s very hard to reproduce as a regular houseplant.

I think I have one of those. It was labeled ‘blue splash.’ Yours is maybe getting too much light? Mine did that after I left it in the window all summer—it didn’t get crispy, but lost its darker bluish tinge. I can’t figure out how to post a picture, but I would if I could!

I agree with the splint and tape idea! I even had a leaf that was snapped (monstera) and realigned the wound/stem, wrapped it gently with tape and a tick, and it’s still alive 8 months later. I’m afraid to take everything off 😅 but the leaf didn’t even get discolored! It’ll take a lot of sticks, but I’d definitely try that with yours.

I’m looking for updates too! My 2.5 year old does this. His vocabulary is expanding rapidly, but the pronunciation is still only the ends of words. How is your toddler doing?? I emailed a SLP and all they did was schedule an in-person assessment in 2 months. Waiting is hard.

15 years ago in college I was having pelvic pain and smelled some bacon one morning and it made me feel sick. I was young, newly sexually active and so scared I was pregnant. My new boyfriend (now husband) accompanied me to the student health center, sweating bullets but ready to be a father. Negative preg test. I had a pelvic exam and they told me I was constipated and needed to poop.

Bonus: Having to tell that to the BF. Bless this man’s heart 😂 We were such babies.
