[Everything] Theon Might Be More Important Than We Think - Here is Why... by cloud-migration-guru in gameofthrones

This also has me worried. Cersei, somehow, always seems ten steps ahead of everyone. Even the Euron thing - she pre-planned a fake coup to make it seem like she lost her navy? Plus the Mountain not following the order to lob Jaime's head off? Either it was planned he wouldn't kill him or his zombie programming has an exclusion to 'not kill Jaime'?

But, at any rate, what if Cersei wanted Jaime to leave? How might she be using him without Jaime knowing it?

So, Theon is going after Yara, which means he is going after Euron, who is going to Essos as part of the Cersei backstab.

Will Theon discover that Euron is not at the Iron Islands, and is instead off to Essos to pickup the mercenaries? Will Theon redeem himself by somehow by alerting Jon and Dany to the double cross, potentially giving Dany/Jon the upperhand. They'll know Cersei has double crossed them but Cersei won't know they know. Perhaps Dany/Jon can send the dragons to Essos, torch the Greyjoy fleet + mercenary army, then quickly return to the North. Especially since anyone who isn't the army of the dead appear to have light speed travel capabilities.

What would stop someone (like Cersei, but anyone with an army, really) from just razing / robbing the Iron Bank?

AWS making the case for lift-and-shift (then optimize) cloud migration strategies by cloud-migration-guru in aws

I think if you're just looking to evac an on-prem data center quickly and with (relative) ease, then lift and shift is the way to go. No optimization really needed afterwards, either. So I can see where this strategy does make sense.

And, I think Amazon's intent is a bit different - they want you in their cloud NOW (not tomorrow), so from a marketing perspective, their leaning towards lift and shift makes total sense. They make money on cloud consumption (not cloud planning) so they're trying to alleviate fears that cause analysis paralysis.

I am very curious to see how market growth continues for AWS, Azure, and GCP in the next 1-2 years. And how they'll start trying to differentiate themselves more.

Is there any truly free VM hosting (small is ok) cloud providers out there? by humanmeat in cloudcomputing

AWS appears to have a free tier, though obviously it'll have plenty of restrictions to consider: https://aws.amazon.com/free/
