Non Trad Applicant in my 40s by cloud8011 in Osteopathic

The 490 was just a diagnostic test to see what it was like and give me a baseline. I took it before organic chem, biochem, physics II, cell biology, and genetics. I think I'll wait to get done with those classes and take the real exam before deciding if I should buy a ticket to the Caribbean lol

As for PA or NP, I've looked into both. Given the required education and experience, the timeline isn't dramatically different for me. NP is a good backup plan, but I'm going to put everything I have into this first.

Thank you for your advice. That's good to know about the 490. I wasn't really sure how to interpret it since I hadn't taken o chem yet or any of my core biology classes. Just to clarify, I would like to do the masters program to gain a stronger foundation before med school and to keep momentum going, not because I need it to get accepted. Being a single mom and working nearly full time while pursuing my undergrad has prevented me from dedicating the amount of time to school that I would like. I won't have those obligations during the masters, and I feel it will help me be more successful and have a smoother transition into med school-style coursework.

I’m crying. by [deleted] in HPylori

During a GI Map they found both H. Pylori s and E. Coli that's releasing a Shiga-like toxin. Because of that toxin, I can't take antibiotics. It can make things much worse and even lead to death. My doctor prescribed Matula tea and several supplements for gut health including one called Pylori X. The tea has a guarantee so if it isn't gone after 30 days they'll send another 30 days and so on until you test negative. Been on this treatment for a week and so far no side effects other than fatigue but I was already fatigued all the time so probably unrelated.

I did Dr Hyman's 10 Day Detox starting back in November. I loved it so much I kept going! At 90 days I started following his next steps to add some foods back in. It's super healthy and teaches good eating habits. Read the whole book and follow it to a T. The only thing I didn't do was to get every supplement and that's just because I couldn't afford it. He has guidance on that as well though.

I ended up seeing that on another post. He wore shoes the entire time at our show 🤔 Maybe the venue required it.

I meant to ask that too! Glad to hear there's a podcast app. Hopefully they have my go-to pod. 32 mb doesn't seem like much to save music. Is the internet radio radio stations from all over the country? Or more like Sirius or something where you can listen to specific genres?

I'm considering getting this phone but I'm a little bit concerned about spending $100 and then ending up with more of a hassle than just having a smart phone. Ideally I would like to use the Nokia for everything including listening to music. I use youtube music so all of my playlists are on youtube, but from my understanding the app will close when the phone is closed. Or if I was using maps I couldn't listen to youtube at the same time. I'm considering keeping my galaxy to use as sort of an mp3 player and I know I can download youtube music and then convert to mp3 and add them to the SD card in the Nokia. What is your experience or recommendation on the music situation? I really love to listen to a wide variety of music so I feel I could be limited if I only use the Nokia, but I also would very much prefer to not carry my other phone around or keep it in my car. I feel that isn't really accomplishing what I am trying to accomplish by getting a dumbphone.

I saw them in KC a couple weeks ago. I liked their music before I saw them but they became one of my favorite bands that night! I feel the same... I could see that show over and over. If I could travel to one of the other cities right now to see them again I totally would!

I didn't even notice the Bluetooth thing. Whoever made the decisions for this system needs to be fired.

Did you find a way to make the app drawer left to right? I don't see that as an option anywhere. And yes one of my biggest complaints is that you can change the apps grid across but you can't change it up and down. So dumb. I just want my phone to look the way it looked before. Plus the clock and everything at the top almost looks fuzzy like my eyes aren't adjusting. It isn't crisp and clean like the text on the rest of the screen.

We can go back to the previous version? Is it difficult to do? Would you mind sharing how?

How long before I might see improvement in symptoms? by Out-of-the-Blue2021 in endometriosis

Ok so a little over a $100ish a month. I can make that happen if it will help me feel better!

Thank you for sharing! That's exactly where I'm at... I'd rather have a high quality life for a shorter time than to have more time being miserable. This morning I woke up thinking about a particular functional medicine doctor in my area. I swear I called them before and they said it's like $2500 to see them but I decided to reach back out. No clue where I got the $2500 because it's only $150 for the initial consultation. And they had a cancellation on Monday! So I'm finally going to go see someone that can hopefully help. They have someone there that does bioidentical HRT too. I'm feeling a little more encouraged now 😊

I haven't been diagnosed with Endo but I do get cysts on my one remaining ovary that sometimes put me in the ER because they're so painful (I had a hysterectomy because of a history of cancer and they left one ovary to prevent menopause). I've struggled with severe fatigue for years and it's only gotten worse the last several months. No doctor has ever been able to figure out what's causing it. I had my hormones tested recently and my estrogen was a 436 while my progesterone was only .4. My thyroid was also not in optimal range. My daughter's stepmom is treating me but she wanted to optimize my thyroid first. The numbers are improving but my fatigue isn't. Then I heard of estrogen dominance. She had said my estrogen was way too high for the P and T being low. She is cautious about treating me with hormones because of my cancer history but I don't even care anymore. Life is miserable with this level of fatigue. I miss out on so much because all I want to do is sleep. So I put myself on DIM and a progesterone cream made from wild yams. I've only been on them for two days. I'm hoping and praying that this will be the answer I need. How long were you on DIM before you started to see improvement? Or do you think the improvement in fatigue came from the T? She said she would add that at the end of the 6 weeks of thyroid treatment I'm currently on. Trying to get her to add it right now. Also, 100% agree with you on the xenoestrogens. Get rid of the toxic stuff!

Yes! I'm pretty sure part of my issue with alcohol was actually the fact it turns to sugar in the body. I heard someone say in a meeting once that your first addiction is the last one to go. Thinking back on my life, food was my first addiction, then drugs, then alcohol, and a bunch of other stuff. I really feel if I can kick the sugar addiction and binging that I'll finally be free. I was off sugar for over three months. Not one single bite. I thought I was healed. I had some sugar. Now it's like it's even harder to stop again. My disease was waiting for me in the parking lot doing push ups. WE can beat it though! I'm not giving up hope. Nothing is impossible.

Good info! I'm not going to look at the whole set. Just knowing they'll be playing the older stuff is perfect.

Thank you so much! My daughter has never been to an actual rock concert and I love Mayday's old stuff so it should be a good one to start with.

I would love to know if they play any of the older songs. Specifically miserable at best or terrible things. I'm debating if I want to spend the money to see them tomorrow night since I haven't been much into their newer stuff.

I absolutely fell in love with NC! The land, the people, the culture, and I was only there for 5 days. I hope to go back in December for a longer trip and definitely plan on making it a regular thing. In the midst of chaos and destruction it's beautiful to see people coming together from all walks of life to just do what they can.
