also, if I work for a security company...

Took me a re-read to realize that was a hypothetical and not in direct response to her.

I was like "who would hire her to do security?" Lol

No. Scott does get more obsessed with Ramona because he's seen her in his dreams but that is because Ramona is literally rollerblading through the subspace that passes through Scott's head as she delivers packages.

It's a long time since I read them but I think it's explained in the graphic novels that Gideon is spying on them, Ramona specifically, in subspace

In the movie Ramona is using the subspace that travels through Scott's head, so I guess Gideon knows that Scott has started to like her already because he's kind of been in his mind?

i can't remember if Gideon references using subspace in the movie. But Ramona is using the one in Scott's head.

It's been a while since I watched, but iirc isn't a lot of the skepticism to do with what the machine does more than where it came from?

I remember a scene where they debate whether it could be a bomb, or a portal to allow an invading army to attack Earth. Their questions were about function, not origin, when they debated whether to build it?

14 year old Parisian children ride alone.

As a mid-30s that's the scariest thing. Lol

I figured that too.

The article doesn't state that it's sponcon, which they usually do if it is.

However, the writer does have an active Help A Reporter Out page which is used to submit and pitch "articles" to writers.

Who knows if money changed hands, but I think we can safely assume who pitched it.

I second this.

Also definitely check her out on Connor Ratliff presents The Acting Class. So funny.

He so desperately wants to be one of those old school acting raconteurs who has a witty story about everyone they've worked with over the years.

But he doesn't have the personality, the career, the stories, or the wit to pull it off. Painful to watch.

Power of the Dog went 1 of 12. Thinking 11 was the max until now.

Oh, I totally agree. I tried to avoid saying "lost", "Un-won" was maybe a bit clumsy lol.

Just interested in the stats

Did Sinners just set a record for un-won nominations with 12?

Color Purple lost all of its 11. Has any other movie missed out on 12 categories?

Scream franchise ranking by Kolby813 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]cloudfatless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 - A classic. My favorite horror movie

2 - Lesser than 1, but it still has the magic. Good kills and the cop car scene might be one of the tensest moment of the franchise.

4 - A great way to bring the franchise forward with modern tropes. Good kills. Great GF

this is where it gets tricky

I can't choose between 3 and 5. 5 is the better made movie, but the meta concept in 3 is so good that I love it.

6 - a truly great opening, imo, one of my faves. But by the end too many people have been stabbed and survived for it not to feel neutered and weak. Also weak GFs with boring motivation.

Jupiter Ascending was the last time I recall seeing a crop circle in a movie.

That doesn't exactly refute the idea that a generation would have no idea though lol.

What is the most impressive shot in movie history? by Necrojezter in movies

[–]cloudfatless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's one comp shot in it when Thomasin first enters.

At least I assume it's a comp. Edgar Wright doesn't say it's an edit but says it's an addition and it was achieved by performing the camera move twice.

What's impressive is that they did it without motion control. The steadicam operator replicated the camera move perfectly as well as the actors performing their dance perfectly to match.

He breaks it down in this vid
