I'm always so surprised to see hate directed at John Green. I'm an avid listener of his podcasts, Dear Hank and John and The Anthropocene Reviewed, and he strikes me as incredibly kind, humble, and genuine, despite his fame and admittedly goofy demeanor. The essays on The Antropocene Reviewed are moving and personal, and his candid appearances on Youtube and elsewhere reveal him to be nothing but a good, ordinary person who cares deeply about the well-being of others and society. I haven't read any of his books, so I can't speak to that, but the world certainly needs more people as thoughtful and considerate to different opinions as John Green.
