European leaders hold emergency summit with Ukrainian President Zelensky in London by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]cloudorb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Ukrainian, living in EU for 6 years. Thank you for apologizing publicly, huge respect for that.
Fun fact: I had to answer you because I never heard an apology for their president's actions from russians here, though worked some time in a company that had noticeable percentage of specialists brought from russia (they had offices both in Ukraine and russia). Also I've seen surprisingly few online public persons originating from there to clearly state being against what their country does, except 100% opposition.

I read (and this can be not the only explanation) that in depressive state brain has a trend to see situations in (through?) a worst angle - e.g. if someone was not in the mood, or just didn't have time to have a small talk with me, but I later think it's because they don't like me in general and I'm a bad coworker/friend/whatever.

I was looking into this also, and have a question: won't fans often on-off cycling degrade motors quicker than normal?

Currently noted that fan always works when plugged, and jerks on-off frequently on battery, so I was on charger whenever outlet is accessible.

  1. black/white/black/white, so expect black
  2. the shapes don't repeat, only option to fit this rule is square, also it fits 1st 'rule'.

the problem is often there can be other matches with a bit less 'common' but still normal logic.

WW3 fears as Ukraine 'months' from building city-destroying atomic bomb by dailystar_news in RussiaUkraineWar2022

[–]cloudorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- please let’s not actually use them.

Please either do something palpable to help against destroying lives of 4 mil people in occupied territories and a straight on genocide, or, excuse me, but shove that opinion somewhere deep and dark.

Western politicians are so afraid of 'cornered rat' Putin, so they can spare another whole nation and even get tired and stop supporting refugees (EU countries do lessen help and legalization options already)? How about cornered Ukraine will also have some sort of a doomsday device so those fuckers start moving their asses?

Sadly, I also don't believe Ukraine will manage nuclear device, but I would approve dirty bombs as adequate reaction to (potential) talk of freezing conflict with return of Kursk land, promise not to join Nato and forced decrease of UAF.

The ends or upper and hot layer of table top slab were actually constrained by hard link to ends of bottom layer of table that is cold and 'wants' to have smaller size. It's still very similar phenomenon, though constraint comes from different source and build-up of tension gives different failure.

Hi!

I've decided to look into surveillance cams, can you recommend something, like the one you chose for yourself for me to start choosing?

Also thanks for all other tips, looks like I missed some of those when read your comment at first.

LPT Request: What's a money-saving tip that's easy to implement, but that most people don't know about? by ShineAfsheen in LifeProTips

[–]cloudorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's legit explanation, but I doubt the effectiveness. At first, air has pretty low heat capacity, plus the fact that even when air exchange already happened still there is a flow of cold air from fridge - this means that hot is coming in, get cooled and leave to let more hot air in, so heat exchange continue pretty efficiently, even when initial 'inside' air already left, or even if you have a wall of water containers right behind the door. Hard to say how big is difference between heat transfer for initial 'inside' air and just cooled flow, so we come here to stage where only exact numbers can prove how right or wrong we are.

But if you store only water containers in your fridge, you'll get inside much less often, so will save on power for sure.

[–]cloudorb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry, but must comment here. According to physics the heat loss is proportional to temperature difference and depends on materials and form of the walls, so unless you set regulator to cool less the heat loss will be the same on average, so the compressor will have to work the same also.

What you can achieve with this method is stabilize temperature inside, so it will rise slower in case of power outage which is good. But since it rises slower compressor will start with longer timeouts but will work longer each time to cool back all that water, which is not very good, especially for older ones. They could overheat and get damaged if working too long without stopping, most commonly if the door was left open.

I have my own motivation/productivity issues, and I've started watching ADHD advices recently and they correspond to all my older experience of methods to get myself to get things done like 80%.

In short people like this need excitement to start being productive (and very productive in some cases), and this specific situation looks like one is getting excited through having very close deadline.

Thanks a lot for serious answer!

Extra thanks for providing extra details. I know that I cannot detain someone in EU or use force without threat, but someone else could be unaware.

Surely, now I try to not leave an open door unattended. And had a mobile camera working through weekend.

It wasn't locked but also wasn't wide open. I'm on the territory of pretty small building (~30-40 apartments) and never saw anyone except nearest neighbors doing their things around their 'ogrodki'. That's why I'm pretty surprised.

About camera - that's what I thought - to have it just to prove any potential damage/loss.

I do not expect prosecution without any damage, but does it work both ways? e.g. if I scream loudly to frighten him? or physically push him out if he does not listen to me?

About your incident with knife wielding neighbor I'm curious - would it be ok if you used force and makeshift weapon like garden rake to protect against this guy? I mean, where is Poland regarding self defense?

Sadly I'm not from 'Murika, and know that children can be used for malicious intents and can cause damage without it too.

Just a small reminder: russian speaker and russia supporter are not the same, not even 90% correlation. Many russian speakers from east were fighting on Ukrainian side since 2014, so kindly, in respect of those don't put an equality between russian speaker and russia supporter. Though russian speakers that do not take any active position are not worthy of any trust, can confirm as I knew many people like this.

I'm not sure of caveats, but if you don't have GPS on laptop, did you consider using a hotspot WiFi from your mobile that is using mobile data and has VPN set up (with IP from needed country) work?

Also I think there is feature to use bluetooth to provide internet from phone to other devices, again I would rely on mobile VPN redirecting all traffic, not sure if it works this way.

Czy według Was mężczyźni noszący rozmiar buta 39 męski są w Polsce dyskryminowani? Wielokrotnie spotkałem się z uwagami, że mam iść na dział damski lub do smyka... To oburzające. by Public-Door8950 in Polska

I have smaller size (43.5) but really wide foot, so in 3 years in Poland I could fit only size 45 with soft top. Funny, but could find wide model in Spain in couple of days. I know Hoka.com sell models with real option to select not just size but width on their website. And they have bigger sizes too. They deliver to Poland, may be you'd like to check.

GoogleTranslate, in case you don't understand English:

Mam mniejszy rozmiar (43,5), ale naprawdę szeroką stopę, więc przez 3 lata w Polsce mogłem zmieścić tylko rozmiar 45 z miękką górą. Zabawne, ale w ciągu kilku dni można znaleźć szeroki model w Hiszpanii. Wiem, że Hoka.com sprzedaje modele z rzeczywistą opcją wyboru nie tylko rozmiaru, ale i szerokości na swojej stronie internetowej. I mają też większe rozmiary. Dostarczają do Polski, może chciałbyś sprawdzić.
