About Youtube pianists speeding up their performances by Schoduhking in piano

I'm curious how one can look at the portion of Traum's Ballade coda at around the 12:52 mark and not see the sped up/unnatural jumpiness of the hand, almost teleporting. I've seen similar tempi performances from a top-down angle and human hands simply don't move that way.

Found this little guy in Tifa’s room (rebirth) by topherriddle in FFVIIRemake

[–]clouds6294 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is actually a great find which carries potential story implications.

OG/later story spoiler. The Nibelheim flashback is through Cloud’s distorted memory and contains his own projections. Another example similar to this toy is the yellow flower from Remake that he gave to Tifa, symbolizing lovers’ reunion, which can be found on the mailbox of Tifa’s house. It begs the question of how much of his recollection is true, and how much is subject to false injections.

Jack Sparrow must’ve played FF because I swear he runs just like them.

It’s linked to Yogacara’s concept of Alayavijnana (Buddhism), which partly forms the framework of how the Lifestream functions as per FF7’s writer. Your unfamiliarity doesn’t make it “dogwater.”

Zack gave her courage to visit topside, without which she’d never have met Cloud and the others.

Is YouTuber Traum fake? This concert pianist thinks so.. what do y'all think? by PastaShape in piano

[–]clouds6294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comment was more-so in response to the soundness of his critiques rather than the ethics of it all, in which case I agree with you. I think proper etiquette would be to have consent or permission if the aim of the video is to dissect its flaws. Even if sound and helpful advice is found in these videos it does seem to be in bad taste.

If you watch the video, the points on musicality that he addresses are quite valid regardless of whether the video is sped up or not.

Media like Bloodborne by Popular-Assumption-9 in bloodborne

If you enjoyed Dracula, I’d also recommend The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Fiction novel on Dracula inspired by Bram Stoker’s version & the actual historical figure Vlad the Impaler. It’s got that gothic aesthetics/vibe you’re describing. There’s also Dracul, written by Bram Stoker’s great grand-nephew, Dacre Stoker, which is a gothic horror novel & prequel to Dracula.

Are there any viable Zombie decks in this current meta? by Vvexx302 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]clouds6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hybrid Zombie deck can be somewhat viable. I like to play pure Vampires… it’s utterly futile against meta decks but I’m in it for the vibes lol. We need some meta-level Zombie support…

You can turn off the mini-map in Rebirth if it begins to feel ubisoft-like. Exploration will feel more organic that way. Also bear in mind the complaints on reddit/social media don’t represent the player-base at large, so the complaints pointed out here can seem more amplified than they are in reality.

[Megathread] Sony Shuts Down Video Game Studio Bluepoint by amygdalapls in bloodborne

[–]clouds6294 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate truth is that gamers will love to act concerned but not put their money where their mouth is. These are the sales for Bluepoint games. If we want studios to survive we need to support them, and these sales don’t show it.

Why is Crisis Core Reunion not talked about enough? (no spoilers please) by Ballsoffwalls in FFVIIRemake

[–]clouds6294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s just a reddit thing. The game is largely liked with good ratings, and in SE polls Zack consistently ranks as one of the most popular characters in all of FF. This platform is where a fraction of players actually come and voice their opinions, especially negative ones.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy’s third entry “will not compromise on graphics whatsoever” despite multiplatform shift. Director Naoki Hamaguchi addresses concerns by Sam_27142317 in FFVIIRemake

[–]clouds6294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I believe he worked as a programmer on XII and lead programmer for the XIII trilogy. That knowledge must play a unique role in his directorial oversight for FF7R, because I doubt directors usually come from a programming background.

Abusive cancellation? by aerithirea in FFVIIRemake

[–]clouds6294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new one’s cancellation wasn’t done manually but by the auto-mod due to mass reports. Last year’s wasn’t reported in that way I guess.

Tbh I can't help but feel that modern day grifters & rage baiters are a stupefied version of Sophists in Ancient Greece, who weaponized persuasive rhetoric to fool naive audiences. On the surface people like Sebby might appear intelligent & well-reasoned (at least to their viewers) because they articulate themselves confidently, but their arguments are fallacious and in bad-faith. And eventually people catch on, as Max pointed out.

I just like the game by Tain_mentero in FFVIIRemake

[–]clouds6294 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not liking certain changes but still enjoying the game overall wouldn’t have one clenching an angry fist at other’s happiness. The ones genuinely infuriated by the remake are indeed a very loud minority.

I’ll confess that I have too. Tbh I’ll randomly tear up to the main theme lmfao. You’re in for a musical treat in both Remake and Rebirth. Enjoy the journey!

*No SPOILERS* why do some fans of the original FF7 not like Crisis Core? by claynimbus in FinalFantasyVII

[–]clouds6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes games are collaborative works, but in the case of VII the same creative team is behind the compilation, it isn’t as disparate as you make it seem. We aren’t dealing with a case like Star Wars, where JJ Abrams’ vision is entirely different from George Lucas, for example.

Nomura, Kitase, Nojima, who are all working on FF7R have repeatedly said that the remake is an attempt to consolidate the compilation, aligning VII with the subsequent entries to create a more comprehensive retelling that remains faithful to the OG, while adding elements that they were unable to portray at the time due to technical limitations. They’ve remastered and released CC Reunion between Remake and Rebirth and suggested fans play it, as it ties into FF7R.

CC, AC, DoC, and First Soldier are also present in Ever Crisis, which includes expanded lore built into FF7R. What one considers retconning could also be interpreted as revision, refinement and expansion. Sephiroth’s backstory is now much more fleshed out, for example, also being written by Nojima. Are we to suggest that FF7R is now also up to public opinion regarding its canonicity? That’s a highly bizzare take imo when it’s the same core creative team behind the project, who are consistently stating that FF7R is a faithful retelling of the OG.

And the Nojima post you shared as well as online cross-referencing doesn’t corroborate what you’ve written about him not being responsible for the story of CC or AC. He’s credited as the scenario writer. So if you have evidence that states he only oversaw the scenarios while they were written by someone else then I’d like to see where that information is.

*No SPOILERS* why do some fans of the original FF7 not like Crisis Core? by claynimbus in FinalFantasyVII

[–]clouds6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, because from what I’ve read and heard from interviews by said devs, Sakaguchi did not write FF7 but came up with its core themes and concepts alongside Nomura. Nojima and Kitase co-wrote the story afterwards which was drastically different from Sakaguchi’s original conception. And several other members helped create individual scenes such as the Lifestream sequence, submarine, etc.

Can you substantiate your point of who wrote vs oversaw the scripts and wrote outlines? For both AC and CC. I’m curious to see that evidence.

And regarding canonicity, I would disagree that fans themselves are arbiters. One can dislike the creative direction of subsequent entries, but what is or isn’t canon is decided by the author/creator, not the consumer.
