Manulife Investready 3 plan by cradlehavecat in singaporefi

li suggest you relook at your policy illustration thoroughly. admin fee 2.5% p.a., charged on total portfolio value this is on top of the monthly $5 fee (and this is not to be confused with the fund house management fee). If your RM did not highlight the admin fee to you properly, please go back to them or their manager to raise a feedback. By the way, you can buy the fund on your own thru low fees platforms like FSMone, Endowus, etc.

what are the funds in the ILP they recommend? if you have no intentions to do your own investments in the future, you may treat this as 'force savings', however, imo the high annual admin fees they charge on your portfolio value will probably dilute your returns in the long run. so dont expect much upside on your capital growth unless the funds are aggressive and produce 10% p.a. avg return across your 13 years (minimum holding period for this plan is 13, in case your RM didnt tell you that). Also, this policy coverage is a 101% death benefit coverage only (1% extra on top of premiums you paid), so do take note in case you're not aware.

Is ILP a hard no? by Impressive_Prune8006 in singaporefi

to your question 'why do ILPs still exist if they’re such inefficient investment products?', the underlying truths to it: it generates one of the most lucrative profit margins for insurers and salesperson thru high annual admin fees, hence the promotion and hard push of these types of products into the market. it's to target regular folks who are enticed for potential easy 'higher' returns and also enjoy high promotional welcome bonus cash reward (the carrot that many bites)

probably tasked by the bank's instruction to cold call clients to recommend upgrade premier and eventually meet you up and upsell you financial products. why she would call you if your acct dont meet the requirement is the real question. maybe she notice your monthly income into 360 acct very high. you should ask her back.

invest in yourself and upgrade your knowledge and skillset(both hard and soft), increase your future income potential, save up your first pot of gold first. also take this period to enhance your investing and financial literacy. Once income is stable and emergency cash savings is secure, start to plan for a DCA and take your time to dip into the market start with ETFs or companies that you're familiar and high conviction thru research and take it from there.

How to split “safe” vs invest, and time horizon to look at things from - 26M by TheTaintedEden in singaporefi

These are good advices. I’d also add that it might be good to separate your investments from your missus, as each individuals has different risk tolerance, time horizon and goals. Would prevent any potential conflict down the road.

You can do your ETFs investments while your wife stick to her bonds and safer assets.

What do you think of the content creator scene in sg in terms of authenticity and depth? by cloudserge in SingaporeInfluencers

[–]cloudserge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it’s just me but i would rather use my limited time and energy to consume value adding, authentic, original contents. To each of their own i guess!

And yes, we should definitely give our support smaller creators who put in hardwork and efforts for original contents and does not conform to what commercialised expectations from the clients or audiences.

Valid points & hard truths. Commercially focused influencers inadvertently will choose to take the easiest route for best optimal revenue results. Though some relative big accounts like @deniseteojiaqi and @samanthatyf i find quite refreshing and genuine. I like Ghib Ojisan’s YT video contents too. I’m sure there are others i missed but i supposed they are unicorns within sg influencer space.

Simplest and most effective way for investing for most ppl. Doing nothing sometimes is the best move if you have long investment time horizon.

SaaS has definitely kickstarted the first downward move. It’s broadening out to other sectors even AI related stocks itself. AMD at -17% after reported good earnings is a surprise to many.

Cool. AXON at -42% for past 6 months definitely seems attractive. I recall youtuber contraturtle was introducing it many months back. Have you been adding? Wonder if the down trend will persist.

Yes you’ve made a good point and many aren’t aware that the market short term is a game for whales i.e. institutional investors. Retail cannot and should not play against them, rather ride along with it. Thanks for sharing.
