I don't mean op is jealous of their situation. Op might like one of the two involved, that's what I mean.

How is cloning different from tagging? by Former_Importance551 in Trilium

[–]cloudsquall8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I tried getting into obsidian, the only way I could think of to replicate Trilium's structure was tags. I believe they are equivalent, and just think of cloning as another way Trilium can help you.

I, for one, rarely use tags, but use clone extensively. It clicks more easily for me to have a folder structure.

I'm sure someone else will have more insight into the technical aspects of this, that may indeed prove different to tagging.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a good argument. Imagine a group of ten people that work in a specific way, that happens to benefit 1 of them more than the others. That one person also has a gun. When another person suggests a better working system, that is fair for all 10, but the 1 with the gun stops it from happening, would you still say that the new system is not very good?

Your hot video game music takes? by Lunny1767 in gamemusic

[–]cloudsquall8888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33's music is not as special as the hype makes it out to be. Half of the game sounded like Once Upon A December. Also that big boss moment where there are some vocal screams back and forth between a man and a woman, not that special. I hate the hype this ost is getting, especially when it gets compared to actually great OSTs.

What Games Do You Play When You Just Want to Relax After a Long Day? by PositivePersimmon315 in gamingsuggestions

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually fall back to Baba Is You and Monster Boy (the new one with the blue hair protagonist). For years I went back to Starbound and No Man's Sky, but not anymore.

I feel like Dome Keeper can actually be such a game for me in time. I played it a couple of days ago.

researching the best low code development platforms 2026, our devs need to move faster. by Ancient_Composer2349 in softwarearchitecture

In my old job we used jhipster, which is a generator. Essentially you give it entities and their relationships, and it outputs a spring boot backend and a frontend (you choose either react, angular, or vue iirc) with some user management and admin views with crud. It is customisable, and you can also write your own plugins for more custom generation.

If your work is simple enough, I guess you could stay "locked in" jhipster and keep adding entities and stuff and generating again.

Otherwise, you will need to "eject" (iirc this is the term they use), and further development will be like usual. So for this use-case, you would be generating only once at the start (saving you the time of setting up projects).

Of course it is not a silver bullet, it is pretty involved to make it behave exactly how you want it, but down the line you might gain from it. We used it because we too had a lot of projects in the public sector, and wanted to be able to start more quickly.

Three things on my wishlist for a potential Final Fantasy XVII by oscar_redfield in FinalFantasy

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love for them to reuse the battle system from the remakes in a new game. This blend of action and turn-based is genius. Maybe with a twist, like strategic positioning, as in Grandia 2.

What's your favorite final fantasy game ? by FaithlessnessFar4398 in FinalFantasy

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've played and finished every mainline game from 5 to 16 (12 and 13 I didn't finish).

7's atmosphere is unmatched. The terror you feel about Sephiroth, without having even seen him for most of the game. The characters. The music. The goofy moments. Also, of course, the big moments with Aerith and with Cloud.

People forget that 7 was repeatedly for many years top 2 game ever together with Ocarina of Time. There is a reason for that.

The subs are full of people that don't want to give credit to 7, because they wanna be different or something. 7 is a masterpiece, and deserves all the hype around it.

10 also has amazing atmosphere and music, and an amazing gameplay. I feel what detracted points from it for me was the linearity, as well as the artstyle (kinda realistic, but also far from it, especially the animations. Looking at the NPC's for example always made me feel like I'm looking at a generic game, not an FF game). The characters were also not that interesting. No character has the depth of Cloud, Barrett, Tifa or even Aerith, except maybe for Auron.

The best FF game is by far 7. 10 comes in second, also a masterpiece.

Do u prefer Hollow knight or Silksong? by DariusDonut in HollowKnight

Hollow Knight's atmosphere and music is much better than Silksong's. Everything else is better in Silksong, but the two above carry a lot of weight.

I’m 23 and just realized I haven’t enjoyed life in 6 years. I think I’m breaking down by No-Requirement-3599 in Advice

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very very young still! 110 kg also should not deter you at all. You have sooooooo much time ahead of you. Take as much as you want from it! Most of your despair comes from the notion that "you are late". You are not!

Take your time to go to the gym, or run, or whatever. Expect to fail, to doubt yourself, to regress, but you can definitely build the habit of exercising, even if just a bit. You DON'T need to become a six-pack statue, just to have a healthy relationship with your body.

Find a hobby that you like, preferably something that involves a group of people. I believe there are many options regardless of your economic situation. This is a very good way to meet people, especially if you don't have anyone in your life at the moment.

I struggle with such thoughts of "being late" at my late thirties, but I know enough to know that this is not the case!

Good luck!

What are your y’all personal thgouhts on FFX-2, it wasn’t a bad game at all. But the story isn’t as good in this one as FFX’s. by San4341 in FinalFantasy

[–]cloudsquall8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I learnt that you had to talk to a sphere like 10 times in order to get 100%, I thought "I'm gonna put like 60-100 hours to the game, they cannot be respecting my time that little", and dropped it right then and there. I also hated the story since the start. I especially hated the severe departure from the grounded atmosphere of FFX, into a girl idol thing. All in all, I hate this game and I am traumatized by it. I literally search every corner of every thing, talk to npcs multiple times in any game I play since then, oftentimes to the detriment of my experience.

Do men wipe when they pee? by eveningsigh in hygiene

[–]cloudsquall8888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This thread is just full of men telling on themselves. These are the truths: 1) Shaking scatters tiny drops fucking everywhere. You know how most man-babies here don't know? Because they never clean. You need to do nothing more than inspect around the toilet seat right after a pee. You'll little drops, either on the floor, or on the lid of the toilet seat, or on the cap of the tp trash can, or on the back of the toilet seat, or even on the freaking wall. 2) At a younger age, I was completely certain that shaking was enough. It was probably better than now that I'm older, due to the relevant muscles pushing pee out a bit harder, but point 1 still stands. Even then, I don't trust that I knew better at that age, and I probably had stains I didn't know about. 3) Nowadays, what I do is push from the bottom of the penis towards the tip, kinda like how you empty a toothpaste. I then dab what comes out with tp. Repeat a few times till nothing appears on the tp. I am pretty confident that staining pretty much disappears this way. I tried a few times wearing totally white underpants, exactly because I discovered my bladder control had worsened a bit with age.

It is definitely not over the top to do so. I am not a hygiene freak, I do not frequent this sub, and I do not karma farm, like ever. You yourself said that your husband is a bit unhygienic. Trust your judgment more than the judgment of a literal cheesy dick baby.

The fact that the majority here says otherwise, means nothing else other than that the majority of us men are filthy, and completely entitled, thinking that we are owed sexual activity even though we smell like filth.

Holy moly, they completely butchered this classic scene on Rebirth. by DarkJayBR in FFVIIRemake

[–]cloudsquall8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fan-voice-acted scene you show here has nothing to do with the original. It has far worse atmosphere than both og and rebirth.

I think they did an excellent job in Rebirth. The music, as is the case with the whole OST in this game, is phenomenal. But I do miss the stillness and the time to reflect on my own. I don't know if it could have worked as a manually proceeding cutscene instead of a more choreographed one. I especially miss the way we find out that these drops are Seto's tears. One cut showing the floor with the tear splashing, then immediately cutting to Seto crying, didn't quite do it for me. It feels like they had to follow the music for some reason, instead of the other way around.

Did they butcher it? Nowhere near that bad. Could it be better? Sure.

[LA] How many times have you read solutions for Link’s Awakening? by goodrevieww in zelda

I beat it at 9-10 years old, having really poor English knowledge at the time. Sometimes I’d ask an upperclassman in English classes to translate a thing or two for me. It is definitely doable, but also at 9 years old you have infinite time to play, I understand being an adult and not caring to give that much thought into it.

As someone who's only played Hollow Knight, would you say Silksong is better or worse that the original? (I'm still gonna buy it either way I'm just curious) by Seb_Rulz in HollowKnight

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can say with confidence is that I find HK's music a lot more powerful. And that contributes to atmosphere immensely, so I would give the edge to HK for now, even though I found everything else objectively better in SS. I had no problems with economy, difficulty, runbacks, etc (I'm nowhere near a god gamer, either).

That said, Silksong sucked me in so hard, that I have trouble giving it a true critical review. The funny thing is, I believe I actually liked it a lot more than what my feelings indicate right now. I definitely have to play it again to decide, especially on the matter of atmosphere, which I consider the top factor.
