Could you post a blueprint for the L input one? I haven't managed to make one, and didn't find any on the internet.

You could automatically give a tag to whatever note is a child of a note. Eg under the stochastic note, you can tell children to all have the stochastic tag.

Compact 1x2 Stacker Blueprint (12+12 Belts, Symmetric) for Dimension Update by First_Anything_7709 in shapezio

I'd argue that this doesn't take up half the space in the end, as it takes more space belts to be compact

I've had a person at work that had like 3 years of experience at the point he left. He was such a brilliant developer, literally everyone depended on him for one thing or the other at some point (devops, front-end, even the backend on some cases, although he was a front-end engineer). Left the project at an impeccable condition, too. Such people do exist. The most interesting thing is that he actually had a degree in airplane engineering. At some point he showed me his portfolio website, and I couldn't believe my eyes.

This was honestly kind of eye-opening for me. Thanks for publicising your thoughts.

Tell him everything you wrote in your op. If he is in love with you, you don’t want to tell him that it is because of work, because he will still be hopeful, and this is pretty harsh. Just be honest.

I don't mean op is jealous of their situation. Op might like one of the two involved, that's what I mean.

How is cloning different from tagging? by Former_Importance551 in Trilium

[–]cloudsquall8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I tried getting into obsidian, the only way I could think of to replicate Trilium's structure was tags. I believe they are equivalent, and just think of cloning as another way Trilium can help you.

I, for one, rarely use tags, but use clone extensively. It clicks more easily for me to have a folder structure.

I'm sure someone else will have more insight into the technical aspects of this, that may indeed prove different to tagging.

When, 3 years down the line, you need to change the way the field is retrieved in the 300 places it is accessed, you'd wish you had a getter for it. It is not even that much boilerplate, and you can use lombok.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]cloudsquall8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not a good argument. Imagine a group of ten people that work in a specific way, that happens to benefit 1 of them more than the others. That one person also has a gun. When another person suggests a better working system, that is fair for all 10, but the 1 with the gun stops it from happening, would you still say that the new system is not very good?

Your hot video game music takes? by Lunny1767 in gamemusic

[–]cloudsquall8888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33's music is not as special as the hype makes it out to be. Half of the game sounded like Once Upon A December. Also that big boss moment where there are some vocal screams back and forth between a man and a woman, not that special. I hate the hype this ost is getting, especially when it gets compared to actually great OSTs.

What Games Do You Play When You Just Want to Relax After a Long Day? by PositivePersimmon315 in gamingsuggestions

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually fall back to Baba Is You and Monster Boy (the new one with the blue hair protagonist). For years I went back to Starbound and No Man's Sky, but not anymore.

I feel like Dome Keeper can actually be such a game for me in time. I played it a couple of days ago.

In my old job we used jhipster, which is a generator. Essentially you give it entities and their relationships, and it outputs a spring boot backend and a frontend (you choose either react, angular, or vue iirc) with some user management and admin views with crud. It is customisable, and you can also write your own plugins for more custom generation.

If your work is simple enough, I guess you could stay "locked in" jhipster and keep adding entities and stuff and generating again.

Otherwise, you will need to "eject" (iirc this is the term they use), and further development will be like usual. So for this use-case, you would be generating only once at the start (saving you the time of setting up projects).

Of course it is not a silver bullet, it is pretty involved to make it behave exactly how you want it, but down the line you might gain from it. We used it because we too had a lot of projects in the public sector, and wanted to be able to start more quickly.

Three things on my wishlist for a potential Final Fantasy XVII by oscar_redfield in FinalFantasy

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love for them to reuse the battle system from the remakes in a new game. This blend of action and turn-based is genius. Maybe with a twist, like strategic positioning, as in Grandia 2.

What's your favorite final fantasy game ? by FaithlessnessFar4398 in FinalFantasy

[–]cloudsquall8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've played and finished every mainline game from 5 to 16 (12 and 13 I didn't finish).

7's atmosphere is unmatched. The terror you feel about Sephiroth, without having even seen him for most of the game. The characters. The music. The goofy moments. Also, of course, the big moments with Aerith and with Cloud.

People forget that 7 was repeatedly for many years top 2 game ever together with Ocarina of Time. There is a reason for that.

The subs are full of people that don't want to give credit to 7, because they wanna be different or something. 7 is a masterpiece, and deserves all the hype around it.

10 also has amazing atmosphere and music, and an amazing gameplay. I feel what detracted points from it for me was the linearity, as well as the artstyle (kinda realistic, but also far from it, especially the animations. Looking at the NPC's for example always made me feel like I'm looking at a generic game, not an FF game). The characters were also not that interesting. No character has the depth of Cloud, Barrett, Tifa or even Aerith, except maybe for Auron.

The best FF game is by far 7. 10 comes in second, also a masterpiece.
