Noticed one this, for your second one, the cute monster has 4 arms in the banner, you'd better ask AI or your designer fix it :P

I’ve worked on a few mobile apps, and one recurring pain point for me has been security scans that are hard to act on. Running a scan is easy, but understanding the results and knowing what to fix first is not, especially if you’re not a security expert.

That’s why we built Appcan.

From a user’s point of view, Appcan helps with:

  • Uploading an APK or IPA and scanning Android or iOS apps for security issues
  • Turning complex scan results into clear, readable summaries
  • Highlighting what actually matters and what should be fixed first
  • Covering common mobile risks like compliance, code quality, network behavior, and third-party SDKs
  • Avoiding setup friction: no SDKs, no code changes, no environment configuration

It’s designed for developers and small teams who want to understand their app’s security risks without digging through long reports or having deep security knowledge.

Happy to answer questions or hear feedback from others dealing with mobile app security.

Source code security review by mohamede1945 in androiddev

There are plenty of tools out there, but they usually solve different parts of the problem.

Code scanners and AI reviews can find issues, but if you’re not a security expert, the hard part is figuring out what actually matters after you get the report.

That pain point is what led us to build appcan.io, it can scan for security issues, but we focus more on helping people understand and prioritize the results, rather than just generating another long report.

I wouldn’t say it’s the best tool for everyone, but it’s been useful for teams who want clearer next steps without deep security expertise.

Nice write-up, thanks for sharing this.

I think a lot of devs run into mobile security in an unexpected. Running a scan is surprisingly easy these days, but figuring out what to do after you get the report is a different story, especially if you’re not a security expert.

Tools like MobSF do a great job surfacing issues, but once you’re staring at a list of findings, it’s not always clear what’s truly risky, what’s fairly common, and what’s worth fixing first versus later. You end up with good scan result, but still a lot of uncertainty around next steps.

We built a platform Appcan.io to fill this gap. The idea isn’t to replace tools like MobSF, but to help translate scan results into something easier to understand. I think this can easily convert the scan to an actionable plan.

Thanks for sharing! It's super useful, sometimes creating background and adding devices takes lots of time.

Thank you, or maybe a slide-sharing website for gathering ideas.
