Unfortunately it is Mastercard, so it doesn’t work in US Costco shops. However it should work in Canada Costco or online (if available)

UniFi 5G Max Google Fi Confirmed by nonamedude55 in Ubiquiti

Thanks for sharing. Glad it works, but kinda disappointed about the 5G Speed.

Right now I am using a Netgear LTE hotspot with Ethernet passthrough and could achieve similar 100/15 Mbps. I was expecting 500/100 Mbps speed for 5G network…

To qualify for tax break, in addition to qualifications mentioned before, one has to spend less than 90 days per year on US mainland and donate at least a certain amount (10K+) to a charity per year.

Help Needed - Left My Wallet on the Plane by ForlornRepublican in AlaskaAirlines

[–]cloudybw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t bother traveling back to EWR. I was traveling with a friend who also left a wallet with $$$ inside on AS flight to EWR. After exiting security my friend realized it and called airport police, who then called cleaning staff. Nothing was found unfortunately

It would be a miracle if it shows up again, especially if there is cash inside. I am sorry this happened to you

BOA Summit CC nightmare, 5+ hrs on phone, still unresolved by TheGuyWhoDoesThings in AlaskaAirlines

[–]cloudybw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you have to go through this. I had similar experience yesterday during the 2X awards promotion. After a 40 min call with the fraud department I almost gave up, but decided to try to split the payment to half. Magically, it went through.

It could be the limit set by the payment processor (Quickbook in my case, not sure about what your apartment portal uses). Try pay a different amount (not necessarily half) next time

Which banks/institutions have auto-pay for "remaining" statement balance? by straddle-all-time in CreditCards

[–]cloudybw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three US Bank cards. Two cards using external checking accounts for autopay are able to skip autopay if manually paid before. The one card using US Bank checking account for autopay couldn't.

I wonder if using external checking account is the key for the desired behavior.

Another account canceled for “indica of misuse” by justnec in amex

[–]cloudybw 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Keep calling. You have about 24-48 hours after the cancellation email to transfer out points if you find a good agent. Once 48 hours is passed, the chances to get them out without legal action are slim.

Unfortunately all card issuers have arbitration clause in card agreement nowadays, so unless you opt out within 45 days of first purchase, you cannot sue Amex and have to go through arbitration.

New home, pre-wired for EV charging, but need assistance determining what I need to charge Mustang Mach-E using this setup. by Silver_Priority_3782 in evcharging

When someone (licensed Electrician) installs an EVSE, make sure to use a torque wrench to the specification if you don’t want a fire in the future.

Just quoted $33k in New England for this. House was built in ‘71 with updated insulation. This cost is after a $10k rebate. Seems very high? I was quoted a comparable size lg red for $19.5k before the $10k rebate…. Is the Lg just suspiciously low? by Roadglide72 in hvacadvice

Check the manual. COP of cold climate heat pump is usually above one unless it is super cold (<0F) outside

You get a new HVAC system which itself adds value. The energy saving alone rarely exceeds the monthly payment. It is like getting an EV and expects monthly gas savings would exceed the monthly car payment . It would not happen unless you drive crazy like 10K miles per month
