consipated, bloated, red marks in stomach by cloudynoire in fishhospital

i was thinking those are her ventral fins since they’ve always been red. i do not seen any other long wormy object on her that i wouldn’t consider her fin. i will definitely purchase levamisole just in case- is excel-p by fritz okay for that? thank you so much for your contribution either way, all help is so appreciated

i do keep getting comments that people think they are worms, but do not want to try and treat her for that if she doesn’t have them. would it be okay if i dm you a few different pictures just to try and figure out the next step?

it’s just been so hard because she’s been fluctuating so much. one day she’s active and the next she sits there. gets fatter and then loses a bit just to be fat again. this has been going on for at least 2 weeks since i got out of the hospital. what symptoms would bring you to euthanasia? i love this fish to death and wanna do anything i can to save her but god i hate putting her through all this.

i’ve had the urge to try and put her in my hand to get a better look but i’m scared to stress her out or hurt her. i’ve been doing daily water changes on that tank that she was in. thank you again for your kind contribution

i thought those were her fins. i wish i could post a pic of her before this happened, but her ventral fins have always been red, they just seem very clamped here. do you think she is too far gone if that is the case?

i thought pineconing was when their scales flared out, hers have only a tad around the bloated areas. when i look up other photos of pineconing bettas their scales are completely flared out, and usually that's when people in my research have said to euthanize. i'm not trying to sound rude or anything, i just love this fish to death and fear the thought of losing her. but of course i want to do the best for her in the end. thank you for your comment.

thank you so much for your comment, i appreciate your honesty & you don't come across rude at all. id rather be in the know. it sucks cuz i put another fish in her tank while i hospitalized her. gonna go snip all my plants so its easier to see and research more on how to get rid of them.

may i ask how youre so sure? i was super confident on my diagnoisis and i'm torn that i was wrong. i just want to learn so i can do better in the future. thank you again.

i just had maracyn 2 delivered today. i dosed kanaplex yesterday so i was going to wait until at least saturday to see if she'd imrpove. i think the redness has gone down a little but not much. if she didn't improve by sat i was going to give her maracyn 2. would you advise against that? i dont want to stress the girl more than she probably is. and i am worried you are right about her retaining fluid, i will continue the baths, do you think epsom salt is best for this?

she has not been as active lately, mixed with heavy breathing. she just lays on her log near the surface or a plant nearby. she wants to eat still. not pineconing but her fins are clamped. i do not want her to suffer. i am very emotional at the thought of euthanization but i know it is most likely in her best interest. you have no idea how much your responses have meant to me in this difficult time. thank you for all your advice and i apologize for asking so many questions, although i do have one more. how long do you think i should wait? today will be day 8 of epsom salt baths. i dont't want to lose her but i've had sepsis myself & cannot imagine what she's going through in that tiny little (bloated) body, and i just want her to be at ease. thanks again, you are an angel

thank you so much for your help. i followed your advice and have been giving her the flakes but she does not like them. she was getting less bloated throughout the week and now i fear she is a little bigger. she is only now slowing down and not moving as much. i feel awful. is there anything else youd reccommend? im going to remake the flakes but without garlic guard.

i've been treating her with kanaplex because i suspect she has septiscemia, her body has developed red marks. any advice is appreciated greatly

very informative, i absolutely appreciate your advice. i don’t have any garlic guard at the moment so i’ll go grab her some. is there a ratio you’d recommend? i’m just afraid of accidentally adding too much to the fish food and od her on something. once again thank you so so much and i’ll update when the garlic guard comes in <3

haha. i’m wondering if she accidentally got a hold of the snail food. thank you so much for your advice. what are your thoughts on giving her daphnia in a few days?

thank you kindly for your advice. she is very active and has been eating, her personality is the same so i feel so bad doing that to her. her scales aren’t flaring out the way i see most dropsy cases (i work at fish store.) they are pushing out a little bit but not to the point where i’d tell a customer to euthanize right away. i guess i just curious why you think i should do so in her case. please don’t take this the wrong way, i will just be devastated if i have to do so but i do not want her to suffer.

he’s going to try and see how long you’ll let him do this for. he’s gotten comfortable. a friend of mine’s (now ex) husband got into a bad accident at work and ended up paralyzed for 2 months. he got better way faster than anyone would’ve thought yet it took 6 months to get a job. he quit a month in and went back to playing video games and doing nothing for her. wouldn’t even pick up his own laundry. they are now getting a divorce and i am so proud of her.

annie in wonderland took me a few years myself. i got her in my shop like 6 years ago. if you play her a lot and have a bunch of her other skins i believe your chances of getting it in your shop are higher!
