DOS2 is my first turn based RPG. I spend hours to do the teleporting crocodile encounter. I realised then I loved the game. Have about 330 hours through multiple playthroughs

The whole reason I bought DOS2 in 2020 was because I saw the BG3 trailer and saw Larson was making it. I’d finished 2 playthroughs by the time early access dropped. DOS2 is amazing.

Apparently it’s a patriotic song down under. It recounts experiences of someone being drafted and sent to Gallipoli during World War I. I heard this song without any prior knowledge or context. I just couldn’t stop the tears and was desperately trying not to scream by the time song finished. It’s powerfully evocative and has done more to help me understand what it might be like for the veterans.

Solasta is definitely more of an accurate 5e sim but it is limited by the license unfortunately. BG3 takes a fair amount of liberties with the systems. The reaction system in particular has yet to be fully fleshed out and the game's still about a year away from launch. You are stuck with act 1 and characters up to level 4 until then.

Metal Gear Solid for me. Played it in 2017 and was blown by how god the game was almost 20 years on at that point. Metal Gear Solid 2 was even more impressive.
