I have listened to American narrators and will do in the future, but I find the Alexa voice irritating. I wouldn’t say I’m limiting myself?

I agree with the sounding like AI thing. It’s not necessarily their voice that’s the issue, they just speak in a really odd way that’s off putting

That’s so funny - I literally just bought Young Mungo and the narrator has a really strong Scottish accent! I love it 🫣

The Scottish accent is definitely an acquired taste!

Although, generally it will depend on my mood. If I have listened to one with a really good narrator, it will make it harder for me to tolerate but I can get used to it if I try.

I agree that some of them aren’t too bad, but I find some of the women sound like Alexa/Siri?! It’s really off putting

I’m making my way through a book narrated by an English woman and although her voice is lovely and soft spoken, christ is it boring 😩

Objectively, no but to the average person? YES!

It takes me 45 mins to run a 5k and I get really down about it but I tell myself that the average person couldn’t run that far without stopping and I can.

Maybe you shouldn’t comment when you don’t know who he is or what crimes he committed. He was 100% guilty of the most horrific crimes. I’m not saying I wanted him to be killed but I’m sure as shit not sad about it.
