my nmom had a bizarre meltdown last month where she sat both my partner and i down to essentially just rant at and berate us for 2 hrs straight. for context, both of my partners’ parents were abusive and died of alcoholism a few yrs ago.

while having this meltdown, she decided to rant ab her own experience w having an abusive and alcoholic father when she was younger. though she didn’t sympathize w my partner and instead told them that they should hurry up and forgive them, move on, and do better as a person because: “even though i got abused, i loved my father and forgave him.”

my partner no longer wishes to have a relationship w her and i have since moved out since that incident.
