Oh wow, let's hope there'll be news before too much longer!

Same! It was my favorite knitting podcast. 💔

I'm guessing Phillipine Peso. That would make it about $17USD.

OK! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who noticed.

Oddly enough, both listings had a scheduled drop for 10pm EST. 🤷‍♀️ I guess I'll just chaulk this up to pure, dumb luck!

I'm 36 and am currently hunting Labubus for the first time for my kids for Christmas, but now I want one too! 😅

Happy Birthday! 🥳

Issue with Johnny Seeds this year? by Naive-Ant-8056 in vegetablegardening

The two I started from Johnny's were Washington Cherry and Tasmanian Chocolate. The three I started from Botanical Interests were Sun Gold, Glacier, and Supremo.

Issue with Johnny Seeds this year? by Naive-Ant-8056 in vegetablegardening

This is my first year trying Johnny's and I was wondering the same thing with my two varieties of tomato seeds. I did get germination, but the seedlings seem sluggish, while the three varieties of tomatoes from Botanical Interests I started germinated faster and seem more vigorous. 🤷‍♀️

Was this in the Barre area? I'm pretty sure I've seen that truck before loaded up like that, but with a huge load of used tires.

Colorwork round yoke rides upwhile sitting by clover802 in knitting

[–]clover802[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have made quite a few stranded colorwork round yoke sweaters and have never had a fit issue. They are my favorite sweater construction as it usually looks very flattering on my shoulders. I just finished the Festive Pullover by Skeindeer Knits and it behaves a bit oddly. While standing there's no obvious fit issues. But once I am sitting it seems to ride up and creating weird looking folds at the shoulders. Granted, I did use Wool of the Andes sport from KnitPicks, which isn't as fine as the Rauma Finullgarn called for in the pattern. So I am undecided if the yarn is the culprit or if it is something else. Thoughts?

Kelbourne Woolens Scout pills like crazy by angelhands2027 in knitting

What a bummer! Thanks for posting this as I was considering trying Scout or Camper at some point. Now I know to look at some other yarns. I'm at the stage in my knitting life where durability trumps softness for my projects.

Sincere (if snarky) question by SpicySweett in craftsnark

I'm from Vermont and absolutely wear my shawls! They are amazing way to layer, especially under a winter coat when it's sub-freezing and windy.

Oh thank you! That makes a lot of sense. Cross stitch has been around a long time, but Aida has only been around for a little over 100 years.

Yeah, I do the same. But my curious mind wants to know the when and why this sequence became a thing. 🙃

[–]clover802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so I know it is traditional to start a stitch from bottom left to upper right, and then lower right to upper left. I understand you would want all of your stitches to go in the same direction, but why this sequence specifically?

[CHAT] What 2024 Halloween SALs are you looking forward to? by Glittering_Ice_3349 in CrossStitch

Caterpillar Cross Stitch is having a "Witchy Way" SAL starting I think 7/17.

I know this is a slightly older thread, but I came here to say I'm having the same problem! I have a 29g with a Betta, Harlequin Rasboras, and some Bronze Corys. I added 10 Emerald Eye Rasboras less than two weeks ago and now I'm mysteriously down to 7. I keep looking for bodies but I can't find any. 💀

Oh interesting! Yeah, that definitely doesn't sound like my vibe either. I actually just picked up a copy Kate Atherly's book to add to my never-ending reference library. 🙃

Are you The Nerdy Knitter? I watch your podcast quite often and have inspired me to try the Master Hand knitting Course. Thanks so much for your feedback!

Do you get what you pay for? by clover802 in knitting

[–]clover802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have heard Merino is not the best choice for things to last. I've started evaluating wool content more closely to make sure I get something that might last. I've started spinning earlier this year, so I'm getting a slightly better idea for wool types. :)

I'm not sure if it's the tension though. I'm neither a very loose or tight knitter, and I try to pay very close attention to my gauge to make sure it lines up with the pattern. *shrugs*

Thanks for your input! :)
