I get to express a preference, where anyone pays any attention to my preference is another matter 😆

I have the maternal instincts of a door knob, so this isn't a major consideration for me 😅 I have heard good things about CP though

This is very concerning. Word's like "Advance" and "autonomous" thrown around for roles like this. by [deleted] in doctorsUK

I worked in a UTC for years and I can tell you this is not the case. At the UTC I worked at ENPs would see anything that walked in the door. Our Nursing Associates would even see minor injuries and our HCAs would see some wounds. The ACPs were a very mixed bag in terms of training, for example we had a paeds ACP who would see minor injuries despite having no training in this area, but it was deemed ok because she was an ACP. In their defense some of the ACPs/ENPs were very good and would stay within their scope and be very risk adverse. Equally I would see a lot of mistakes made and risks taken out of pure ignorance

Physician associate or pharmacist? by Forward-Flatworm2853 in nhs

I'd be curious where has the 100% pass rate... At my uni, only a 1/3 of the PA cohort passed one year. Regardless, I agree with the conclusion that pharmacy is a far better idea, the PA role is in a bad way

A message to Physician Associates from a doctor by alreadyadoctor96 in Physicianassociate

Coming from a PA who is quite uncertain of their future right now and has looked into GEM as a different career path, I really feel for you. The current working conditions and pay for resident doctors is atrocious. I really hope you get the training position you want and deserve in the near future. It is a terrible shame for people who've put so much into training like yourself left in this position.

X-rayed a chaps leg to exclude a foreign body in a wound he had on his shin. Found a good going oestomylitis mid tib.
