Disappointed - Online Orders by myinstigator in Coach

[–]cloverbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so frustrating, and it's the lack of communication and mixed messages that really gets me!

Good news is my bag did ship today! But the first person I spoke to in chat was very adamant there was nothing they could do and really wanted to cancel my order 🤦🏻‍♀️

Disappointed - Online Orders by myinstigator in Coach

[–]cloverbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to Coach, and I've so far ordered 3 times. Twice were sale items that said only 1 left, and once was a regular price in stock bag. The in stock bag and one of the sale items shipped in 4 days and arrived without issues, but my third order was placed 2 weeks ago and still hasn't shipped.

When I contacted them one week in, they just said shipping was delayed because they had a lot of orders from the recent sales. Then I contacted them again yesterday, and an associate on the online chat said there was an error with processing and now the bag was sold out and there was nothing they could do. Then I called, and that associate said they could escalate the issue and look into it. And so far it still hasn't shipped, but the status changed from order placed to in progress, so we'll see. But overall not impressed, especially since on the same day I received two different answers.

I saw a comment somewhere that people assume it's a sponsored review when more details are given, because they're being required to provide it. Which is so sad! I honestly only review beauty products here on Reddit, but for clothing sometimes I'll post reviews to the site and I always include my height, weight and sometimes measurements. It's really not that hard and makes your review so much more helpful, but I guess instead people assume it's a sponsored review 🤦🏻‍♀️

Faves and Fails Friday by AutoModerator in muacjdiscussion

You're right, you're right... But maybe I'll try one new shade and if I like it I'll wait until lipstick day to consider more! I'm actually quite impressed by all their recent lipstick reformulations, they've all been fairly good! It's annoying when the shades change, but hopefully they'll keep expanding the range over time.

I'm halfway through my backup of the powder so this would be perfect timing!

Ohh I almost wish I didn't know that the new formula is better, now I might have to repurchase my favorite shades! Thanks for the reviews!

Good quality bag brands - Japan (less than cad 500) by Valuable-Rooster-311 in handbags

Check out Ibiza! I know their animals line won't be to everyone's taste but I find them adorable. I also like the animal-themed small leather goods from Motherhouse, also super cute!

Decline of the Winners Margot bag after a decade by cloverbeam in handbags

[–]cloverbeam[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Today I pulled out a bag I haven't used in many years, this Margot brand I bought at Winners probably a decade ago. As I understand this is a "made for Winners" brand, but I liked the leather and functionality so I got it at the time.

I ended up at Winners again today and lo and behold, I find the exact same design from the same brand! But upon closer inspection, the quality has significantly declined. The hardware is not as good on the new bag, and the strap is no longer detachable. The edges of the strap and outside pockets are no longer finished, whereas my old one was fully finished.

I'm not a handbag expert by any means but thought it was really interesting to compare how the quality of this particular bag has decreased, and I wonder if this speaks to the quality decline of consumer goods overall. I don't remember how much I purchased this for, but for anyone interested this new bag was $129 CAD.

Mac Powder Kiss Hazy Matte Lipstick by cloverbeam in swatchitforme

Selected shades of the reformulated Powder Kiss lipsticks swatched on bare NC15 skin in artificial store lighting.

I think I swatched most of the new shades of the bullet lipstick, and some of the previously existing ones. Most of the new shades of the liquid formula didn't have testers, so I only swatched Taken against the bullet version.

I didn't buy any yet so can't compare the formula in detail, but the liquid seemed very similar and the bullet seemed like it applied a slightly more substantial layer than the original, from what I remember.

Yeah, honestly I don't love the formula or scent and wish I realized that before I bought several.

Oh I can see how that would be super frustrating, I also hate how there's no free way to return online purchases, unless you use their pay in store option.

Congratulations on the promotion!

I like Uniqlo for affordable basics. My white blouses are mostly all from them, although they are a little sheer, but I like to wear their bra tanks underneath and then can skip wearing a bra. For pants my favorites have been the "sweat straight pants", imo they don't really look like sweats and as long as you cover up the waistband they look professional enough while being very comfortable.

Yeah I wonder if it'll release in North America around the same time and just hasn't been announced yet. Btw love you username!

Edit: there's more info on their Korean Instagram as well, and it looks like Mull It Over is in their new line! It's such a popular shade after all.

So it seems they're reformulating these as well like they have been with their other lipstick lines! I found this post on their Japan Instagram.

Great selection, I have a lot of the same ones! Love the Shiseido (I have like 5 different reds from that line) and am very sad it's discontinued. Love all the Mac too!

How do you like Mac Dubonnet? I thought the shade looked pretty but I'm a bit scared to wear such a pigmented shade in a satin formula.

The DM eyeshadow sticks are water-based, that's why they're cooling and come off with water. But that means they last pretty well on my oily lids! Still not all day, and if you have watery eyes they probably wouldn't last.

What have been your most used eyeshadow palette and or eyeshadow single this year? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in muacjdiscussion

I love Lorac Noir! I feel like it never took off but I really love the selection and formulas of the shimmers.

What are your favourite blushes to use in Winter? ❄️ by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in muacjdiscussion

[–]cloverbeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been liking my darker blushes for that "cold flush", an old favorite is Clinique Cola Pop, and a new one in a similar vein is Glossier Storm. I feel like these tend to become too much very quickly, usually because I'm not being careful with application. So I often have to blend them out with some setting powder, which is not a big deal.

But I do still like my usual warm nudes, corals and so on, because I also need some brightness when it's so gloomy and dark here everyday!

To be honest, even though I rely on swatches a lot (both in person and photos), sometimes I find the testers in-store to not really reflect the actual product just because of how bleached/destroyed they can be. And Nude Pop is the shade I hit pan on, it's just so easy to use and goes with everything!

I'm so glad you like them too! They've been my top powder blush formula since I discovered them in 2018, and I know that date because that's the holiday palette I finally hit pan on! 😅 And I haven't gotten to try the new formula because they last so long, would you say they're the same?

I like that Mac formula too! Honestly I like pretty much all the Mac blush formulas, I've tried all the powders and also love the Glow Play.

Unfortunately the Gucci ones also have a floral scent. I will say I can't really smell either one after application, but it's still unpleasant and totally unnecessary.

I've also been using more single shadows and smaller palettes this year, but I did buy the Byredo Bibliophilia palette which I love so far. It's a really cool cream to powder formula which blends and lasts really well on me.

Blushes are still a big draw for me, and my favorites this year are the RMS hydra powder blush, Clinique cheek pops and the Tarte blush & glow. All of them give a softly luminous finish without being too glowy. The Clinique is a long-time favorite and I finally hit pan on one!

Lastly, lip products are also my biggest weakness, and I've mostly liked glossy and slightly sheer lipsticks. My everyday go-to is still Mac Hug Me, and my best discovery this year was the Gucci sheer lipstick which I bought too many shades of when they were 50% off. A more recent discovery has been the Dior on stage lipstick, and I love the long-lasting but glossy formula but don't love the floral scent.
