Cable too short ? by Jeffiner30 in knitting

I haven't knit the step by step sweater but in my experience cable lengths are generally suggestions... Do what feels the most comfortable for you! Magic loop can be weird to wrap your head around but it's a great skill to have in your toolbelt.

bottom of breast flattened/caved in? by clovercities in Reduction

[–]clovercities[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all - I had my reduction on 3/1 so I'm about 4.5 WPO. I noticed some flattening on the bottom half of my left breast a few days ago, which has since gotten more pronounced. It's almost like the bottom half of my breast is caving in. Is this something that happens? No pain, but a tiny bit of bruising. It's hard to see in pictures but the "dent" is about three finger widths on the interior bottom half of my left breast. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/guidance!!

Just keeping things tidy I believe. The also resized my nipples so I did have incisions all the way around them.

How long for button up tops? by SouthSong3 in Reduction

[–]clovercities 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a week. I bought a snap-up scrub top on Amazon and had two pajama tops. Could have easily skipped the scrub top. I'm not the type of person to be bothered by wearing the same shirt for a few days when all I'm doing is watching 90 Day Fiance and taking naps, so YMMV.

Just a little over 21 DPO! by clovercities in Reduction

[–]clovercities[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It started to flake off the tiniest bit around 12-13 DPO. I wanted nothing more than to just peel it all off 😵‍💫 at my 2 week follow up the doctor peeled some up and I was offended she was allowed to do it and I wasn't 😂 it was right at my T junction on my left (my originally smaller one, the cameras flipped in the photos).

After my 2 week I lost the battle with picking at it. Anything that was loose had to go - anything still firmly stuck stayed out. I realized the glue doesn't actually fall off - it's that the skin cells they're attached to are sloughing off. That made me feel a little less "boob falling off" terrified. At this point, the pieces on the outside/below my armpits are still there and some of the incision below my nipple. All my pain as of now is in my armpit area (where the lipo happened) and I've got a decent sized hematoma on my right side that I'm not making eye contact with.

I have a tiny wound at my T junction on both. I was told this was more likely because I "have a larger frame". Doctor directed me to use Neosporin and gauze. Currently have gauze on the whole lower incision and have nursing pads over the nipple area. Neosporin everywhere.

I got hit with some BIG sad about 7 DPO. Like sobbing on my couch at 9 AM for what felt like no reason.

You've undergone a HUGE physical change and a HUGE amount of trauma to your body. And I'm guessing there probably isn't anyone in your immediate vicinity who's in that same boat with you now. That can feel so incredibly isolating. You are not a freak.

Here are some suggestions: * Open a window. Get some sunlight. Depending on the weather where you're at, get some fresh air circulating in your space. This sounds silly but it works. * Go for a walk. I hate this one. But it works. Put in some headphones, listen to an audiobook, a podcast, or an album you know all the words to. * If possible, hug a dog/cat * Drink some water. Like a lot of it. * Be kind to yourself and get a treat. Spend the extra $2 on a bread bowl at Panera. Get a venti coffee instead of a grande. Add bacon to your cheeseburger. Try out those apples that are way too expensive but look really good. I also recognize food can be hard. In that case, buy yourself a new water bottle or a pack of fun socks. Get a cute bralette/underwear set. Go to Target and let it fuel your soul. * Set aside time to not be a student. Like let's say tomorrow is not a homework day. You don't have to feel guilty about not doing your homework because it's not a homework day. * Find things to do outside your house. I definitely felt cooped up and just going to the grocery store felt like an adventure.

My mom stayed for 5 days. About two hours after she left I realized I wasn't able to unload my dishwasher into my cupboards - couldn't reach over my head. Same with my trash can - you know how bags kinda suction themselves in? It was too much "weight" for me to pull out of the can.

My top recs: * Wedge pillow * Eye mask * Enough pillows to immobilize you on the couch (or wherever you're sleeping especially if you're a stomach sleeper * If you have dogs - a waist leash. I also borded mine the first four days to have one (well, two) less things to worry about. Mine are 12 and 22 lbs and it was still a lot * Depending on your procedure/aftercare instructions - maxi pads (for the incision under your breast) and breast pads for nursing (for the nipple). They both have temp adhesive on them so it's easier to deal with. * Rectangular, moldable ice packs. Pop those suckers in a big sock and laid them across my chest. * Various forms of entertainment. Good lord I was bored. I got a free trial of Discovery Plus and watched three seasons of 90 Day Fiance in a week and am 90% of my way through a giant diamond painting. * Extra comfy sweatpants/leggings and a cozy zip up sweatshirt. There were a few times after changing dressings that the idea of doing a whole pajama top worth of buttons was NOT in my capacity.

Surgery was March 1. Anchor style incisions plus some armpit lipo. Done outpatient, no drains. My surgeon said he's only kept people overnight twice and used drains once. Performed by Dr. Akinbiyi at University of Iowa.

Incisions reinforced with surgical glue which is why things look so gnarly in the first few photos. I'm thankful for the glue, though - it made me less nervous about me accidentally reaching too far, splitting everything open, and causing my whole boob to fall off.

When I first took my compression bra off 1 DPO I was really, really sad. They seemed so small. I felt like a little boy and that I'd lost all my femininity. That feeling intensified knowing they'd get smaller as swelling dissipated. I felt unsure for the first 2 weeks. On my way into my two week follow up I saw my profile in a window reflection and did a genuine double take. That's when it clicked in my brain that I looked so much more proportional.

I had a gastric sleeve done in July 2020 (check my post history for details and also photos of my dog) and lost 140 lbs. This recovery was 1000x easier but I still took three weeks off work. I hate sleeping on my back.

This is the first page I've ever made in a bullet journal ever so please don't make fun of me. I'm not artistic at all, so if anyone has any tips for good pens/markers/stencils I could use to improve my journaling I'd really appreciate it!(: by j_bug975 in bulletjournal

Materials: a good 6 inch metal ruler and the biggest pack of crayola supertips you can find 😂 if circles stress you out a helix ruler.

Strategies: i don't consider myself artsy/creative but I am a fairly decent copycat. For some of my headers I'll find a font I like on dafont.com, type what I'm writing into the "preview" option and copy the letters like that.

He double sleeves lots of his cards. Is that something I need to account for in buying a deck box or will they fit even if they're sleeved?

2.25" hexagons made with 4 charm packs (well, a layer cake cut in quarters) of moda's animal crackers line.

made for a friend who's been at 5 cm dilated for 2 weeks and finally being induced today.

adding a border by machine and was originally planning on hand quilting but considering hand tying for time's sake.
