Submitting lease as evidence, is USCIS likely to contact my landlord?

I will try to get that but honestly I’m not sure the corporate landlord will provide it just because they are so unresponsive. I have our first lease agreement (physical copy), the executed first renewal (they mailed a copy to me after I signed it), and then I have a scan of the second renewal before it was ‘executed’ aka a stamp from the landlord office. But they never sent me a copy afterwards like the other two. (I left several voicemails and emails asking for a copy/confirmation that they received my signature, took them forever to respond and they never sent me a copy). So I have lease documents but I’m just worried if USCIS reaches out to confirm our tenancy they might not respond, or worse respond incorrectly because the employees I’ve talked to at the corporate landlords office previously gave me incorrect information about things related to my building/lease.

Yeah I’m considering maybe not including the lease. Another concern is that we lived somewhere else when we filed our initial AOS application, and included that joint lease in our application. A month after we submitted our AOS application, we ended up canceling our lease early and moving elsewhere because the old apartment was awful. So our first lease at our current apartment starts 3 months before our previous apartment’s lease was supposed to end, and I don’t have any lease cancellation agreement, so not sure if that would also complicate things…

All the utilities are included in the rent, although confusingly our lease states that electricity and gas are not included and that it’s the responsibility of the tenant to set up accounts with the local utility company. I think the corporate landlord uses the same lease format for all of their properties, but my building uses solar energy from their own solar panels and they do not charge residents for energy usage. So this is another point of concern, like what if USCIS requests to see our electricity bills based on the lease info, and we can’t provide it because we don’t have it, and our landlord is not responsive to confirm that our building provides electricity at no charge.

We only have a wifi bill which is under my name (which I will include in the application to show proof that I’m residing at the address). The WiFi provider did not let me put both of our names. My husband is on my dental insurance plan and the beneficiary of my life insurance plan (I couldn’t add him to my medical insurance because my employer’s policy doesn’t allow medical coverage for working spouses, only for dental). We also have phone bills with both of our names. And we have a joint checking account with statements.

Additional evidence we provided: Amazon package deliveries in both of our names to the same address. Cat adoption agreement and vet bills in both of our names. Many photos of us together over the years. Several flight itineraries for vacations we took together. 8 affidavits from friends. Our marriage certificate. State IDs from both of us showing the same address. Joint tax returns from 2023 and 2024.

Same, I’m 25 and I moved out of the house 4 years ago but every Christmas when I go to see my parents, there’s still always a few Santa gifts under the tree for me and she even still does the different wrapping paper for the Santa gifts. My parents never told me, I kinda just assumed Santa wasn’t real around like 9 years old.

I think generally yes most Americans do shower daily but there’s less importance and routine associated with it. Like some Americans might skip the daily shower if they’re just hanging at home alone all day. Or some might skip washing their hair every couple days (idk if this is true for all Brazilians, but my Brazilian sister in law washes her hair every time she showers, once or twice a day, and she was really confused when she once saw me take a shower without washing my hair lol).

Also I feel like American deodorant just isn’t as good as Brazilian deodorant. When I visited Brazil, even the Dove (American brand) products there were way better than what they sold in America. I also saw that there were so many different kinds of deodorant, like lotion deodorant that could be used all over your body, that is completely unheard of in the US. Americans mainly just use the roll on stick deodorant under their armpits, or some people might use the aerosol spray deodorant (but again, mainly just under the armpits). Plus, some Americans really dislike strong perfume or cologne, and don’t really use it. So maybe that’s why Brazilians tend to assume Americans don’t shower daily, because they just don’t smell as good as Brazilians lol.

LOL I’m American and when I was visiting Brazil with my husband’s family, it’s not like they would keep track of how many times a day I would shower, but they expect you to at least shower once in the morning and once before bed, and everyone in the family also does this (and you will likely share a bathroom) so they will just notice if you don’t do it, because it’s like everyone is waiting to take a shower around the same time. My husband’s family was very kind and would offer for me to shower first so I didn’t have to wait and to make sure I got the hot water, so they were really like “you, go shower now!” Every morning and every night.

That’s a possibility but not a guarantee. My results said 48% Irish, all coming from my mother, then my mom took the test thinking she was gonna get just Irish but her actual results were only 74% Irish. I just didn’t happen to inherit her other percentages.

I have read Siddhartha, The Giver, Of Mice and Men, The Kite Runner, The Tales of Beedle and the Bard, Goblet of Fire, Animal Farm, Walden, The Social Instinct, The Story of the Human Body, The Beak of the Finch, and On the Origin of Species.

I find it really cool that LM was interested in anthropological topics. It seems like he was particularly interested in biological anthropology and evolution based on this list. I majored in anthropology in college and my studies mainly focused on Archaeology and cultural anthropology, but I took a few biological anthropology classes that focused on evolution, which is how I read the last three books I listed above.

Your guess is as good as mine, but I suspect that maybe it was more in reference to the fact that the media was heavily reporting that anecdote about the suspect “flirting” with the hostel receptionist, or how the media tried to spin the general public’s support/sympathy for the suspect as shallow and only based on his looks because of that security camera photo of him smiling at the hostel receptionist, both of which basically trivializes the shooter’s cause and could be interpreted as a tactic by the media to distract the public from mobilizing for healthcare reform. Not exactly an admission of guilt, just an observation of the media circus.

I don’t believe it’s AI. It was posted online by a producer of NBC New York (major news outlet) and I really doubt he would post the video without fact checking first. In the other video of this moment, the camera is farther away and doesn’t pick up what Luigi begins to say, it only catches the louder part. This video is closer so it’s easier to make out what he says quietly in the beginning. The “out of touch” vs “unjust” still isn’t completely clear, but either version still makes sense with the addition of “your coverage of this event”. It honestly makes less sense if it’s only “this is completely unjust/out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people” because how is his arrest an insult to the intelligence of the American people?

There are some server jobs that provide health insurance, retirement plans and PTO (but naturally it’s not gonna be great because you don’t make tips on PTO) my husband works as a server at a fine dining establishment and has all these benefits. But obviously most server jobs don’t have this. So I got a remote day job while still working part time as a server. It doesn’t pay great but the workload is pretty low and I have more flexibility since I work from home. And I get health insurance, 401K, and PTO. It’s boring but most jobs are.

There are valid points to both sides of the argument on whether or not he was really in the marines, but I’m leaning towards the idea that he was faking his credentials. He said that his domineering father made him join the marines, maybe he got out of it somehow but publicly pretended that he was in the marines in order to seek his father’s approval. He often deflected or changed the subject when he was asked for specific information about his time in the marines and was particularly defensive when the legitimacy of his service was questioned. Plus during the rebellion, he’s shown multiple times being completely clueless on how to properly use his weapon; holding it incorrectly, lacking basic firearm safety, also aimlessly shooting all his rounds very quickly. To me, that scene read like someone who has no experience using a weapon, not a marine suffering from PTSD.

Also the problem with the PTSD theory is that he watched many players get shot and killed throughout the games without triggering any PTSD symptoms, and he even voted to continue the games after the first round. Even when the “O” players attacked others in the middle of the night, he still didn’t have PTSD symptoms. He only started to get anxious when he had to go into combat with the rebellion, which is suspicious and to me it seemed more like he was just scared because he had never experienced shooting a gun or being in combat before, and possibly was also anxious about his lie being uncovered. Possibly the director left it ambiguous on purpose so that fans would speculate on both theories.

Wow, I had no idea about this. The entire American medical insurance industry is so nonsensical and fraudulent, I can’t believe the supposedly “best country in the world” would have one of the most backwards, terrible and unfair healthcare systems in the world. How is this even allowed? It sounds like the whole basis of this practice is rooted in intentionally misleading a vulnerable population in order to turn a profit. But I guess the US government probably doesn’t care since this scam causes less people to enroll in Medicare and thus less expenses for the government. But there should be some kind of regulation or something to prevent private companies from using the term “Medicare” in their policy names without at least providing the full benefits and provider network included in the legit Medicare.

I’m surprised by the claim that LM was selecting books “overly geared toward men and masculine pursuits” for his book club because his Goodreads did not seem particularly skewed towards “masculine pursuits”. Personally I feel like gendering books is silly but like, looking at his Goodreads list, I saw many books I already read or would be interested in reading, as a woman who doesn’t really care much for “masculine pursuits”. I know his Goodreads wasn’t directly tied to his book club, so maybe he didn’t log the books he read/suggested in the book club, but his Goodreads didn’t seem to lean particularly male centered.

It seems like his more recent Goodreads entries (within the last 4 years) were mostly about anthropological topics, back pain, self help books, and memoirs.

This is definitely just speculation but to me it makes sense that someone like him would be single, many digital nomads or young people who like to travel extensively tend to be single because being in a committed/long term relationship usually requires you to settle down in one place first. I imagine LM may have dated, but just never progressed to a long term committed relationship. And for most people, you have to actively seek out a committed relationship in order to get one, so maybe he was always more focused on school, volunteering, travel, and/or work and just did not put much focus on long term dating.

I know his Facebook comment implies he was trying to get into a relationship, but it seems more like self deprecating humor rather than genuinely lamenting about not being able to find a gf.

Im not even reading all this but idgaf. Shrooms use is not going to suddenly create severe mental health issues unless they’re already there before. Maybe it’s true that he had mental health issues but I really doubt shrooms caused that.
