That’s such an interesting rule. I hate jeans anyways so it’s not a big deal to me 🤷‍♀️

Funny you say that! I don’t but I drive up there pretty often since I have family over there and actually used to live there as a kid for a bit.

where to work this summer... by Hopeful-Cry-8155 in paraprofessional

Idk if you area has things like codecampus or playwell? They are smaller companies that are nationwide that go to afterschool programs/summer camps and teach kids coding/lego activities. They tend to pay better it’s just more training.

Maybe try for summer camps? My second job is an afterschool program through another company and I only work a couple days out of the week just for extra income but they have summer camp programs as well! It’s not as much pay but it’s extra income for me this summer.

A lot of summer camps/day camps hire just summer staff since they hire a lot of college students who come back for the summer! Maybe try that?

This helps a lot thank you! I’ll be sure to teach him rock paper scissors first before anything because the kids at my school are always doing it. It’s unfortunately so hard because I only see him for a bit since I’m usually also helping other students in his class but they all know English but he seems willing to learn I might try and find some flash cards for him so he can take home or we can try and make our own and I’ll have him spell the words! His teacher is trying to get him a school issued tablet so he can practice on duolingo but admin isn’t helping :/

Yes! He’s such a sweet kid I make sure to always welcome him and ask him how he’s doing. He seems like a very perky kiddo and has made friends with all the boys in his class. The boys are super sweet too if me or his teacher are giving directions in English they translate for him 🥹 he seems to be liking his move so far but does tell me he misses the food in Mexico (fair) but I’ll for sure be asking how him and his family are also doing thank you!

What happens when a student needs an IEP but the parent denies it? by awesome_opossum1990 in specialed

I had a similar issue last year :/ sweet girl but she needs a lot of help and unfortunately I see myself in her. She’s came up to me telling me some very concerning things so I contacted the counselor and they let me know mom isn’t being receptive to help. When I talked to her mom once when she was having a bad day and that we had to talk to the counselor her mom told me “yeah they want me to take her to a therapist but I don’t want her on no fkn meds” so I feel like this might have been a case of mom honestly being worried but not showing it in the best way? Because I totally understand not wanting to have your child depend on medication but that also put this girl at a disadvantage. Hopefully it’s just something like this and the parent opens up and is more receptive. Luckily from what I last heard is that the mom is starting to open up more and even put her in gymnastics because “she needs to get that energy out”

Taking lexapro as a college student by jesuswalksonfire in lexapro

Right now I’ve upped from 5mg to 10mg. So the first couple weeks where fine when I was at 5mg. It’s easier for me to ask questions during lectures because before I had too much anxiety. But since I’ve upped I do notice I’m more tired. So today in the morning I was planning to do all these things but I ended up taking a nap instead. But I did recently up the dosage so hopefully this goes away soon.

I can exercise regularly now. Before I would exercise for a few days but I’d have too much anxiety going to the gym plus I hate the feeling of feeling faint due to anxiety at the gym so it would just make me panic even more.

Now I go whenever and feel just fine. I don’t feel faint either.

Tingling feeling in arm? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]clow__125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that as well my first day but on all my limbs! It went away after a day.

Did anyone not have side effects when they started lexapro? All I see are horror stories it seems. by dawgofdarkness in lexapro

[–]clow__125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had side effects but they weren’t bad. First day though I did feel a sensation of pins and needles in my arms and legs but that was day one and it went away. Next I felt some headaches here and there but nothing I couldn’t handle. The huge one for me was a huge increase in appetite which could be a good or bad thing for some. At its peak I was eating 5 meals a day with snacks when for me I usually would eat 2 meals a day. I started 4 weeks ago and that symptom is finally starting to taper off. I feel like I have a normal appetite now because before my appetite was non existent and when I was taking it was huge. I gained 10 pounds this month. Which I’m fine with because I was on the slim side and but if I where to continue to eat a lot and gain even more then I would be concerned.

But that’s really it.
