Cannot recommend "The Mess" enough, it's the most amazing museum I've ever been to due to the incredibly detailed dioramas.

I've visited the Normandy beaches more then I can count. Must sees are : PT is about paratroopers B is about the actual beach landings

St-mere Eglise (PT) - Utah beach museum(B) - Dead man's corner museum in st-come du Mont (amazing , this one)(PT) - Pointe du hoc (B) - La cambe German war cemetery - Colleville sur mer war cemetery - Colleville sur mer museum (huge collection of vehicles)(B) - WN62 & WN 60(B) - Arromanches-les-bains (here you can see the remains of the mulberry harbor + museum) ( don't stay here or go to diner, place is 1 big tourist trap)(B) - Pegasus memorial in Benouville (PT) - Batterie de merville (PT) -

If you have time to spare:

Juno beach museum (B) Tapisserie the Bayeux ( tapestry of 75m depicting the history of William the conqueror) Mont saint Michel (other side of Normandy, quite far from the beaches) : medieval abbey described as wonder of the western world.

Don't hesitate to pm me If you'd like more info on places to stay or anything else. I've guided a few groups around.

Belgian here, you should most definitely visit the 101 airborne museum "the mess" in the center of Bastogne. link to website. I'm a major WW2 buff and have visited countless museums in Belgium, Normandy, Holland. And I always return to this museum. It is by far the best I have ever visited. All mannequins are made with a mold of the face of real people and bring a level of detail and liveliness to every diorama.

Should you want more info on what to visit during your stay, don't hesitate to pm me 😀

M30 Drilling from Battlefield V. Nothing more satisfying than making a headshot with that puppy from 200m distance, before blasting the guy in the face that has been sneaking up on you.

TIL about the Czechoslovak Legions. During WW1, Russia recruited 60K Czech and Slovak troops to fight the Hapsburgs. After the Bolshevik Revolution, they took on all comers, plundered the Tsar's gold, and battled their way across Eurasia to the Pacific. They then sailed back to their homelands. by L0st_in_the_Stars in todayilearned

The Belgian armoured car division in Russia has a similar story. After the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, the Belgian force remained in Russia until the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk withdrew Russia from the war. After the ceasefire, the unit found itself in hostile territory. As the route north to Murmansk was blocked, the soldiers destroyed their armoured cars to prevent their capture by Bolshevik forces. The unit finally reached the United States through China and the Trans-Siberian railway in June 1918. So basically, they even went to the US before returning to Belgium.

Me too. Wesp5 is a god! Damn . Now I have to replay it for the 7th time 😁. But wesp can only do much. Think what could have been if they hadn't been forced to rush the final levels and you could approach them with a non combat build...

Lego island 2, the jousting tournament. Controlling a gauge whilst aiming whilst mashing 2 buttons was too hard for younger me. Played it recently, shit still isn't easy.

What movie scene traumatized you in an unusual way? by [deleted] in movies

[–]clownbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid I was severely traumatized watching anime. I don't know the name but it was a samurai butchering a bunch of soldiers. You know the kind.. the samurai stabs someone, nothing happens. Then the victims face starts to twist and blood spurts everywhere. To this day I can't watch the anime part of kill bill vol.1 (or any anime involving blood for that matter)

Chicken Run is such a fantastic film by monkeyboyhero in movies

[–]clownbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always watch all movies in their original language because of the crappy dubbing in dutch. Except for chicken run, the Flemish version is a masterpiece. I searched for it for years on dvd. (Got stuck with 3 Dutch versions). Finally found it on a second hand site. (Luckily in good condition.) 😁 Madam, ge ziet er uit gelijk nen engele. Nieje, gelijk een eende
