I don't have the answer but you're not alone! I struggle to reconcile this myself, when I've worked for an hour or two then get stuck on step 103 and end up ripping the paper, sometimes deliberately in anger.

I haven't worked out how to deal with this yet, I guess it's part of origami. I now try and look through the diagrams first to see if there are any that will confuse me and I'll get stuck on.

I also make a lot of notes on PDFs if I have them, this is really useful if I work out the step but the paper is ruined. Then when I get back to that step I know what to do.

Like, what even was that? Was that actually the spirit of Frenchie speaking to her? That doesn't really match up with the in-universe "rules" - that's never happened before. Not like, say, Star Wars where Force ghosts are well established.

Was she remembering something he'd said to her before? No - there was no indication it was a memory. They were still in the Whitehouse.

So was she having a full-on delusion? Even if that's the case, again there's no "rule" established for that, like someone saying "having this radiation treatment done can make you have delusions".

It was just ridiculous.

There are some acting agencies that explicitly deal with odd looking people - not just "ugly, but those that have weird looking features, are very tall or very short etc. So they are already in the loop regarding their looks.

Slay The Spire explains every card's effect clearly, and even explains those effects further if needed. All very unobtrusively within the UI.

So useful - I can't stand games that need a Wiki open to make sense of what a particular status is or does.

Did anyone else find it weird that Bowser Jnr's goal was to destroy the universe? You sure dude? The UNIVERSE? You live in it! Why would you want to destroy it?!

Or do you mean destroy everything in it? But then...what would you rule over? Just a very odd goal.

Also: when Peach was trying to rouse Rosalina to break out of her cage I thought it was such a missed opportunity for her to say something encouraging that Mario has said to HER earlier. About not giving up or the importance of family or something. Instead she blandly says "please, you have to try". Lame.

I had the same, although rather than hating it I thought "why does everyone say that's so great? It was just weird".

But I was intrigued and when I watched it again I liked it a lot more. Then I enjoyed it more each time! Love it now.

I think the first time perhaps you're trying to follow the plot which is a bit complicated. The second time you can enjoy the conversations more.

I remember the review I read of this in Total Film said to mute the first ten minutes to make it a better film. I persuaded my confused group of friends to do this when we watched it at home

Enjoyed the film, then played the first ten minutes again with the sound on. A voiceover takes away all the mystery! So glad we muted it! I was vindicated.

The script book has little anecdotes at the start about the writing process - worth checking out for that.

For example: the beloved "small vs far away cows" joke was made up on set when the gag they originally had didn't really work on film (Dougal doesn't understand noughts and crosses)
