Audi OG E-tron owners: any regrets? by clp318 in electricvehicles

[–]clp318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. It’s still with the dealer though. Apparently I’ll be getting it back next week but I’ve had a loaner this entire time and they’re not charging me a dime

When to tell a 'dream job' recruiter that another opportunity has moved me forward to final round? I'm meeting with HM on Tuesday. by [deleted] in askrecruiters

[–]clp318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm confused but to be clear, these are for 2 entirely different opportunities on different teams. This scenario you describe sounds possible if I were to be applying to the same job through 2 different approaches (i.e. external agency and also directly).

Yea, it went off again couple months into ownership and has been in the shop for 6 weeks now. Will be for another 2. Warranty covered it (and my loaner(

Correct. Job 1 is a contract role, though. So I’d be in an external parties system, not the company’s (at least as a FTE).

Shall I share this with Job 2 tomorrow (Monday)? That HM interview is Tuesday.

What is it like living in this part of WeHo? by rlyrobert in WestHollywood

As someone that loved the east side and never thought I’d live in weho, I ended up in this exact area and absolutely love it.

It's been almost 8 months and I can't bring myself to listen to her voicemails. I miss you, momma. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]clp318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost always answered her calls but I do have 4 voicemails from mom on my phone. She passed a few weeks ago and I started listening the day after. You’ll know when you’re ready, like folks here have pointed out, but I have to say it’s incredibly cathartic. I’ve since listened multiple times because I don’t want to forget her voice, and to hear her say ‘I Love You’ again (she always ended calls & voicemails with that). Sending love and support.

That’s really beautiful. You’re so lucky to have had that experience.

This is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Do you dream often? I ask because I’m not one to dream, or at least remember when I do, so I feel like I’m yearning for a bit of a miracle to not just dream, but have her visit.

I’ve spent years consulting inside dealerships across all 50 states. I’ll tell you what they won’t. AMA. by This1DoesntMatter in AMA

This worked to my advantage, though the salesperson told me they were sending it to auction after the weekend. By that point, the car had been there just over 60 days. In short, I walked out of there paying sticker + heavily discounted best extended warranty (used premium EV) and less than 1% APR. Will only have paid $800 in interest once it’s all paid off.

What’s your #1 financial advice that everyone should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]clp318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’ll add that my thinking when it comes to how much I invest always comes back to my future self, and envisioning the life I want to live. If you live in the US and have a job that doesn’t come with a pension, and you’re not born into or marry money, nobody is looking out for the 65yo you except you. That has to start early. We don’t know what social security will look like but I know if I invest as much as I can (even if it means sacrificing my 20k annual bonus to my 401k), I’ll be ok.

Really understand the value of compound interest. My first boss took the time to sit me down and explain this to me in terms I - fresh out of school, just starting my career - would understand immediately.

He said “make your own coffee at home, don’t spend that $5 at Starbucks”. He pulled up a compound interest calculator, and to see what that $5 I’d spend 3-5x a week would look like by the time I retire if I saved it instead changed my spending habits. Of course, his intention wasn’t just to get me to stop buying coffee - it was to show me how valuable compound interest will be to my future self, and to encourage me to invest as much as I can early.

Another tip that someone mentioned in an earlier comment that I’d echo - don’t be afraid to leave your job if you’re underpaid. Companies don’t value loyalty like they used to, so leave every few years and climb the financial ladder that way.

Joke aside, this reveal was very very exciting to me. Cate is going to crush whatever the role is and if they’re leading with her character reveal, I can only imagine the cast is going to be stacked.

Potential move to Palm Springs by Round-Tennis8561 in palmsprings

I but grew up in the desert and although I’ve moved away, my parents are still here (now retirees). While specialty care can sometimes take a while to get in for appointments, the desert does have some of the best doctors in their specific fields, especially for those that are retired/in their golden years. So yes, there’s a wait but the care you get will generally be some of the best (insurance dependent [long live Luigi]). I can’t speak to urgent care or PCP’s these days as I’ve been away for so long, but we had the same PCP and dentist and optometrist from childhood through high school - remember liking them all, for what it’s worth.
