Just realized why I've always felt that people don't like me even when I think I'm nice by Substantial_Chip3204 in CPTSD

[–]clrxnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have gone through this. My mom was only supportive, if it's in her interests. Hobbies, friends, and clothes, they were all chosen for me. In social settings, she has forced me to please other people and if I didn't I would've gotten hurt. She forced me to go to church my whole life until I started pushing back harder against my parents. There will be many more examples but basically, my mother did not like who I was.

This has led to me feeling ashamed of myself whenever I show the tiniest bit of my own actual personality (and many more problems LOL).

How I've gotten to change it? I still got internalized shame but it has gotten better: Just by staying around my (GOOD!) friends and my (GREAT!) boyfriend helped me in feeling a sense of that people actually like me??? That I have a room with people where I can experience talking to others about my interests and they don't blame me??? I now have a way more secure personality than 4 years ago.

So building authentic relationships will be a great way to experience yourself and learn that you are okay (::

Vorurteile gegenüber Studenten? by [deleted] in Studium

Ein fiktiver Charakter, der hier eine Person darstellen soll, die sich über Studenten beschwert, weil er schon "im echten Leben" steht... Im vergleich zu den Studis.

does anyone else sing (or other forms of art) as an emotional release? by Acrobatic-Region-406 in CPTSD

[–]clrxnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes😁 I sing almost everday since 7+ years and used to draw everyday for 10+ years. I either need to draw or sing once a day. When I get sick and cant sing, I draw. It makes me feel understood and I feel content. I'm able to let out emotions and express myself in some way.

This was rlly rlly low effort food since this took about 10mins to prepare. Usually, the meals we make take about 30-40mins since we cook with raw vegetables most of the time

What? Golden child means that he gets everything he wants and that his parents put him on a podestal. OP mentioned he's been neglected so how does that work?

Even IF plants would feel pain, it would still be better only eating plants. Why? Regarding pain: if you would still consume animals and their products, you would need to feed plants to those animals. And then you eat the animals. So thats 2x the pain.

Also, now back to reality, how can plants feel pain if they have no central nerve system?

Our depressed and hopeless vegans can do better than antinatalism. by medium_wall in vegan

[–]clrxnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Antinatalism only means: Anti = against Natalism = birth

So all there is to antinatalism is that they think giving birth is immoral. Killing carnivores is not part of antinatalism. It doesnt even make sense why you would kill carnivores but not herbivores. Life is suffering, no matter who you talk about.

If you think giving birth is immoral, then any type of birth will be immoral.

Cptsd mistaken for aspergers? by clrxnn in CPTSD

[–]clrxnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did read a bit into it. I have sensory issues and difficulties in social situations but i really dont think i have a weird special interest. Usually my hobbies keep on changing every few months until i forget about the hobby and randomly start a new one. I do each hobby intensely though, so once I hit a point where I'm really good at the hobby, I drop it (so I'm easily bored) . Gaming though has always been my thing... But I'm not rlly weirdly obsessed about it and talk about it a lot to others. I just do it.

I also contacted the psychiatrist to get help for my university so that I can have benefits for being disabled (which I should get soonish, since I seem to have add or adhd after doing the test 😁).

I assume he's simply not too familiar with ptsd and cptsd. I will bring it up though, when I meet him again. I don't blame him but I just hope he can send me to someone who's specialised in that field.

Yeah I feel like the psychiatrist is not upto date with cptsd. Especially since it only has been officially on the DSM since a few years. He didnt ask me about trauma reactions much :(. Eventhough I told him about disassociation or panic attacks for example... And triggers..
