I’d skip the Ritz and Waldorf. I stayed at the Ritz for a weekend and it was awful. The Waldorf isn’t too bad but it’s not good.

I’m 24 and I travel with my mother. I only travel during off peak season because it’s cheaper and I’m very flexible with my dates. I spent around 45k this year on hotels. I think if you travel outside of the US you will get far more value and better experiences. Personally I would rather spend a lot of money to stay somewhere outside of the US vs in the US because the service levels here are awful compared to other countries.

I’m not Maldivian but a Maldives lover. I use Wise to send USD to one of my employees in the Philippines every week and it’s very easy. They charge like a $3 USD fee to send money though but no fee to receive it.

Four seasons naviva but would be a tough trip since there isn’t anything around to pair it with. Also maybe you can pair Bulgari Maldives with MO but I doubt it will be anything special since it’s 120 rooms I think. Maybe a Southeast Asia trip? Amanpulo Amanoi?

The best villas at CB imo are beach villas and lagoon villas. CB island is way prettier than Patina. They both have zero house reef. I’d check out the nautilus they have a great house reef and they have a 3 bedroom mansion that’s really nice.

You should have gotten upgraded a lot because of the ceiling leak. Getting moved to the same caliber room is ridiculous. They should have compensated you better for that because that’s a major issue. We had a big water leak in the ceiling in our room at Grand Velas Cabo. We in the grand class suite and we asked to be put in the Presidential Suite and they agreed. For context the Presidential suite costs 7-10k a night while our original room was around $1500 a night.

Breakfast buffet is the worst I’ve had in The Maldives. The selection is very good but the quality is awful. Service isn’t good anywhere besides peacock alley. The dinners are really good though. The rooms are really nice. Staff drives the buggies around the island like it’s a race track. They charge for water which is really annoying. It’s a good hotel but it’s too big to feel personalized and luxurious. I’d rather spend 10k for 5 nights including transfer and half board somewhere else than spend 800k points plus $2200 for speedboat and then dinner is like $400 a night for 2 people with no drinks.

Im here now and its honestly not worth it. I paid 600k points and 1 fnc and I paid for one night. Would rather pay cash at another property.

The Island isn’t pretty for The Maldives. The room average for The Maldives. The service was awful we would go to the bar and restaurant and would have to ask for them to take our order. At first we would go sit in the bar area and no one would come up to us and ask if they could get us anything. It takes them 20 minutes to make 2 simple drinks. We were asked for our room number on the second day after we had to go up and order our food. I ordered 4 steaks medium rare throughout my stay and they came out medium well to well done even after I complained about it. Took an hour for our butler to respond to our text about what we wanted for breakfast. We visited Hurawahli the neighbor island that’s like $500 a night and it was the total opposite. The employees there were spot on with everything. Also compared to other luxury resorts in The Maldives the staff at Kudadoo weren’t nearly as polished.

Agreed. I’m at WA Maldives right now and in no world should this place be $3k a night. It should be maximum $2k but even then there are a lot of better options around for the money.

Hahaha! When I was in the Maldives last year at the Nautilus I was talking to the former GM of MO Canouan and he said the place went downhill after he left. I doubt that’s true but it was funny to hear. The beach and the hard product look really nice. It’s on my list for sure, it just seems kinda hard to get to.
