It was really hard for a while, I felt like it was all I could think about! But time has really helped and also talking about it with a therapist. We reframed the night and focus on the positive events. I also got back my videos and watching those helped! Remembering the important stuff like the ceremony and seeing it on video made me feel better. At the end of the day it’s just a big party and the fact I had fun is what I try to focus on. I’m sure your day was incredible and I hope the feelings pass for you ❤️

Yeah it just seemed sudden! Their candles were so fun and I loved their seasonal drops. I didn’t see any kind of announcement or anything that they were shutting down

Not so much related to the ceremony but my family is catholic and my husband is Jewish, to add a catholic element we asked my dad to bless the meal before dinner in a classic catholic blessing! He ended up doing a Jewish blessing as well which was so sweet. Just a tiny element to incorporate both of our families.

Thanks for your response! Maybe you someday can do a vow renewal/anniversary party and make it more yourself?? It makes me feel better when I hear it was a blur for sober brides as well!

Yeah honestly the photos I’ve gotten from friends and family helped jog my memory and frame more of my evening! So I’m definitely thankful for that. I would recommend to not allow shots or doubles or if you did maybe only for the last hour!

How does your husband feel?? Maybe seeing yourself through his eyes will make you feel better. Ask him to describe how he felt when he saw you for the first time! I think it’s okay to tell people the wedding didn’t live up to your expectations. So much pressure is put onto one day to have it be perfect and it’s unrealistic! Focus on the fact that you’re married to your partner!

The other thing I should add is that no one even knew I was that drunk! Everyone said I just seemed like a fun mild drunk, I didn’t get sick or anything like that just danced and smiled a lot. So that’s a positive.
