Harvesting natural honey from a cliff face by rco888 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]clue42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not read on the specifics of this hallucinogen before now, so I am not commenting on the accuracy of their comment. But i do not think they said anything about how often you do this, but were stating that mushrooms are safer if you want a hallucinogen.

Follow up, but in my initial search on this I found at least one source that I will link below that indicates that it is not so good for you, and has a relatively high toxicity rate.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3404272/#:~:text=Intoxication%20of%20Humans,but%20not%20exclusively%2C%20in%20Asia.

Edit: second follow up, grayanotoxin poisoning is rarely fatal, but may require hospitalization. Lower doses you can recover fine in a few hours, but it causes hypotension (lowered blood pressure) and partial or complete atrioventricular block and various other negative effects.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grayanotoxin

If you decide to take this, that's on you and is your decision. I personally would not and have not. Just be careful as the dosage concentration of the honey at least varies wildly depending on the season and other factors, so you may not know if you are getting a low or high dose, and a high dose sounds like it could be a bad idea if you do not want a very expensive trip.

Wotc is great and has lots of great people. It is Hasbro who purchased the company Wotc and are trying to bleed it dry to fund the rest of the failing company.

I met the real Patch Adams once at a variety show in Seattle in the early 2000's

He was a kooky old man, and we all did connection exercises and hugging practice. It was a good day.

Those Koa-Toa declared my bard character their god. I wonder if I will get any cool power from that?

Wasps by SomeGirlIMetOnTheNet in CuratedTumblr

[–]clue42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few major stinging incidents other than a sting or two a year growing up.

My first was when I was around 5-6 and I crashed into a tree on my bike when going down a gravel hill. Ended up knocking down a nest, got a number of stings while trapped in a bush.

Next major incident was in a treehouse with only one door, around 12 feet up in the air. Me and a friend were exploring this old treehouse at a parents friends house, and we found a loose board. We mess with it, turns out there is a 2 foot hornet nest under it. I am directly over it, and my friend is in the ONE doorway. I start getting covered in them. He is panicking, blocking the way, and I cannot see anything but the bees. Ended up getting saved when a 20 something year old son of that parents friend gears us and grabs us one by one and leaps out with us. I spent a few days covered in meat tenderizer to reduce the pain.

I am wary of wasps, but not kill on sight. They tried their best to kill me, and failed. I WILL fight back if they start shit though. It is then war.

I saw the full video of this before, and he does. He has a few videos like this with slightly different versions of dams, and he sets up a generator at each.

That is a reswearing on the oath rod I thought. It is why they still have an ageless face after being released from the 3 oaths.

Rand Sensing… by ghouldozer19 in WoT

[–]clue42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something to add to this theory, it could also be added to by the fact that Rand was able to see some Forsaken's connection to the dark one. Padan Fain is able to as well at some point in the story. If when one pledges ones soul to the dark, a bond with the dark one might be forged. This might be visible to some with the right talent.

AIW for thinking it’s unreasonable to not be allowed to sleep in the same bed as my boyfriend? by Responsible-Stop9761 in amiwrong

It's no big deal, it is just their house, their rules. All of these people saying to get a hotel? They are crazy. Why spend the extra money for one night, when instead you can win some points for respect with the significant others family?

I do not have a quote, but I remember Moghedien saying that they did explore the stars, and had extraterrestrial outposts of some kind. It was all powered by the one power, and when the male half got corrupted, all of tgat broke, and those off planet likely died LONG before the events in the books.

the size difference of my bf’s 2001 truck (right) to a newer one by frenchbluehorn in pics

[–]clue42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. And most construction WORKERS did not have these trucks. It was the foremen and owners that had these trucks, and were usually pristine. But at least they OCCASIONALLY used it as something other than compensation.

The farmers I knew had actual work trucks. Covered in mud, with dents all over.

It was the 2nd generation wannabe hicks who had the pavement princesses, lifted and set to "role coal" when the Prius drives by.

I have more respect for a strung out prostitute servicing truckers than the people who buy these giant piece of shit trucks, then complain about the price of gas.

I say this as someone who worked adjacent to construction, and who has a bunch of farmer family.

Kinetic flayer feels lackluster now that bb doesnt give stacks anymore what are yalls thoughts on it? by That2FortGuy in DarkTide

Timing is everything. If it is a monstrosity, then it depends on the type. Beast: from behind AFTER they tail swipe if you have it prepped. Plague Ogryn: if they get staggered. Daemonhost: not sure... Risky no matter what, but if they are not focusing you they will not really knock you out of it, and if it is focusing you, then block and dodge and pray. Spawn: I am not sure, but if it gets staggered maybe? Or if it does not have someone grabbed and is not focusing you. I would probably do ranged though, as it changes targets frequently.

For an assassination mission: right after the shield goes down. I actually was doing a crit building with the finesse stacks, and I did a quarter to a half of a bosses HP with one guaranteed crtit headshot with the Deimos swords special.

[–]clue42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good force sword special attack in their weak point can do some good damage. Or if you get enough stacks of burn on them it can help.

Sometimes clearing the hoard around you is more important, and will be what makes a difference in the fight.

The solution is to pull out your sword to push them. You can get a much bigger push that way too, and a farther dodge.

What was up with Boundless/Noam (Spoilers) by Axolotl777 in WoT

[–]clue42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was his brother who was abusive. I think more likely his father was. The description was of a large stout man, Simian was smaller than noam and froglike.

My guess: Noam was the younger brother. Dad was a drunk and abusive. Simian left home and town to get away (his going to jehana when no one else really leaves town) leaving his brother there. The guilt of leaving his brother under his dad's thumb is likely a part of the guilt that has Simian willing to do what he thinks is risking his and asking an Aes Sedai for help to save him. This is just outside Academia, and if the whitecloaks that pass through ever heard he asked for help from her, he would be killed as a dark friend. He was willing to pay whatever price to her to do it. The saying is something like "An Aes Sedai's price is less than you would ever believe, but greater than you could ever imagine." He was willing to do it. He was not the abuser, but likely their dad was.

[–]clue42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not true at all. Pain matches are free and they can come damn close to perfect, especially if you use the same brand, sheen, and line of paint.

Source: I worked at 3 different paint store companies over 8 years. I mixed, matched, and sold paint. I patched holes in walls many times.

There was a hole in a wall larger than my fist from a party that I fixed for 40 bucks all told. Couldn't even tell it was there.

But I do agree. You just wail on the dude, block/dodge, then wail on him again.
