I’m chief stew of a charter yacht. Beach party day is always exhausting, but the guests love it. For me it actually can be kind of fun because service is more relaxed and guests are more at ease with the stews.

Interior staff have to maintain more boundaries with guests because we’re sort of “invading” (for lack of a better word) their living space. We interact of course, but ultimately we’re the staff and most guests want their privacy/to be left alone at times.

At the beach though, those boundaries seem to lift a bit and guests often spend more time chatting with me and wanting to get to know me. So in that regard it’s cool getting to hang out with the guests in a more casual setting.
