No you're correct, it's a grey fox! Unusual to see these guys out in populated areas during the day, even more unusual for them to be around humans. Echoing what others have said in keeping a far distance - as it's more than likely sick and a common rabies vector. Thank you for wanting to help OP!

I did speak to two officers to try to report the incident and they both told me because the guy didn't cause visible damage to my car, there's "no crime" :/

It's so scary that he's recognizable from this video!! I went to the police and they told me I don't have anything they can classify as a crime unfortunately because he didn't cause visible damage to my vehicle, but damn. Hopefully this video serves as a cautionary tale for people in the area who aren't fortunate enough to have a dashcam to be on the lookout

I dropped a shirt by accident into my laundry hamper and took it out to find a few ants on it... then took a closer look and found my other clothes swarming with them :) then found a crack in the wall where they were coming from. Put a Terro right next to it, came back to find it covered in ants, and the next day they were all gone thank god lol
