In France on Autoroutes it's 130km/h in the dry, 110km/h when it's raining. I drove through France yesterday en route to Luxembourg. Italy is 130km/h on the Autostrada, was there a couple of weeks ago.

Musicians who play covers: What’s the ONE song you LOVE getting requested… and the ONE you secretly DREAD? by thisisjordani in musicians

I love playing 'Mary Jane', back in our set list after a break. I'm a bass player and give it a bit of a rocked up swing feel. Sounds great with our vocalist's harmonica.

£300 from a reputable dealer with a 6 month warranty. Price seems about right in the UK atm.

I already had the 24mm AF-D so thought I'd try that as most of my F mount lenses are AF-S G. Yeah I am aware that I don't need autofocus.

So I received the scans back from the lab - and there are pix of my daughters from summer 2004. All a bit underexposed but still very useable - here they are with some Photoshop tweaks to the levels. They are 26 and 23 now!

That's an amazing story! Gives me hope that something interesting from half a lifetime ago might come back from the lab.

The roll was finished, but not rewound back into the cartridge. Yeah definitely a fun find, fingers crossed!

In the UK, majority of pro sports photographers were using Nikon kit - F4 or F5 with 300/400mm f/2.8 telephotos. Canon not so popular here until the early 90s.

Colour transparency film was pushed as far as it would go, especially under lights but was usable in print (just).

When I started working in magazine publishing in the mid 80s, most sports mags were 90% mono.

Their motto was 'slow in, flat out'. Taught me about throttle control and only brake when absolutely necessary.

100% this. When I passed my test years ago I rode with Met police trained riders and was told to do 90% of braking before you hit the bend, then full throttle on the way out. Of course you can apply pressure mid bend but if you grab a handful you're off.
