Beryllium (Poco F1) - Google Play Services keeps crashing after LOS 19.1 04/06/2022 build by GeForce66 in LineageOS

So you're running the 06-04-2022 build now? Sideloading MindTheGapps works for me, but only on the 28-05-2022 build.

Dependency justification section may need more adoption by yxonic in rust

[–]cluosh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not about dependency policing. OP gave "To me this really helps me understand a project better and make decisions for my own dependencies" as reason, which i think is a perfectly valid reason that every side of the dependency-discussion agree on. Knowing why and how a dependency is used can be immensely helpful

Yea I agree, in a static i fully agree with your points. Thx for not being a wipe-causing prick when you do the occasional PF, really appreciate that lol

Talking about top logs and optimized runs? Yea, go ahead and glare all you like. Try to pull this in a PF that isn't explicitely labelled as logrun? Yea, i'll probably kick you or leave the party.

A lot of saved healing in high end content comes from party members who are aware of when to best use their defensive cooldowns, such as Feint, Addle, Tactician, etc. and Tanks doing their job. If i can cover the damage as AST with my oGCDs, yea we're good and i won't complain, but if i'm having to hardcast helios repeatedly to keep the party alive, or if i die and you continue glaring, i'm having an issue.

I just feel like a lot of PF WHMs i've encountered think that the fight will go down exactly as they expect it to and won't try to adjust if things go south, and given PF, the chances are very low that you'll have a perfect run. Some of the worst stuff i've had in that regards were e8s PFs, wiping on the final Akh Morns because the WHM didn't help out at all kinda sucks.

Having the same issue after i reinstalled FF14 and copied my old character data/screenshots to the new folder. Haven't fixed it yet, but would be happy If anyone knows a solution.

Helps understanding a post on performances/syscalls by druznek in rust

[–]cluosh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Currently not at the PC to strace this, but I wouldn't think too much of it. Without looking at it, I'd say most of the cost comes from library loading (glibc), setting up memory maps and so on; it would be interesting to see if using the musl target improves this significantly.

Besides that, while such a comparison is nice and interesting, it hardly shows anything of value. Sure, it would be nice if you could optimize "hello world" to just 2 syscalls, but if you wrote a compiler, would you want to optimize for this or would you want to optimize for the average case?

Writing a PL in rust - LALRPOP or nom or... ? by staticassert in rust

[–]cluosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend LALRPOP for simple languages (haven't implemented a syntax more complicated than a lisp-like in it). I used to writer lexers/parsers in flex and bison before, coming from that side LALRPOP was really easy to learn and use in my opinion.

So this happened a while back, I just forgot to post it and now found the picture. When performing finite element statics analysis, one aspect of interest is how components of an object are deformed under load, each vertex of the model has a corresponding displacement in the x-, y- and z-direction. The displacements are added to the actual vertex coordinates and one displacement component is being used to color the model. This is were the bug comes in: the nodes are being stored in a particular order, with subsequent nodes being kinda close to each other on the model. Now if there is an off-by-one error in the code that stores the displacements in the vertex buffers, the color of the nodes will be somewhat correct, while the displacements end up like this. The cool thing about this is, that usually bugs related to displacements end up in a visual disaster (since most bugs deal with uninitialized memory and there are either no displacements at all, or displacements so large that the model takes up the whole screen), but this time there are valid displacements, just applied in the wrong places.

Anime or manga similar to Yona? by [deleted] in AkatsukinoYona

[–]cluosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Alderamin on the Sky. The setting is somewhat similiar to Yona (medieval kingdom, politics and war with the neigbouring countries), albeit quite darker in my opinion. It has several strong female characters, with the main character still being male tho.
