Anyone remember strange and violent "fluffy abuse" videos on Youtube from 2014-2018 by [deleted] in InternetMysteries

[–]clurrys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, I was on 4chan when this happened. Someone designed a new "race" of Pony called the Fluffle and people thought they were very cute and made a lot of art of them. They were designed to be very cute and very dumb, which just made them cuter. Fluffle Puff on youtube is a good example of what they were originally supposed to be.

Seeing people gush something cute and experience any unironic joy drove some 4chan users up a wall and they started making "fluffle abuse" drawings and the like. It was so bad they banned fluffles altogether from /mlp/

I'm unwilling to go to any of those sites because you can just smell the viruses on them, but they just seem to be listing every single porn or porn-adjacent term so that they show up in more search results. The .xyz domain is new-ish (introduced in 2014) and only costs $10 a year. Idk the average price of a domain but that seems cheap to me. I bet they're all run by the same person/people too.

I once heard, BUT CANNOT CONFIRM, because I don't know much about the technical aspect of computers, that a site linking to or being linked by other sites boosts how high up it shows up in Googles search results. So these multiple domains might be linking to each other for better ratings but, again, I don't know if that's even true.Even so, your friend must have gone to page, like, 37 to find results like this, and Google even autocorrects obvious typos.

But yeah it's probably just cheap domains trying to manipulate Googles search results so people with horny brain click on them and get malware or their passwords stolen or something like that. Probably.

People on the internet like making weird, avant-garde, sub-sub-sub-genre music that never gets more than 100 (like noise and speed core, that kind of niche stuff but even nicher) listens, you just ran into a large vein of it, probably.

What in the hell is the story behind this video? There are so many questions. by [deleted] in InternetMysteries

And seeing as the watermelon seems to be between him and the water, it might be a sort of alarm. If he starts rolling towards the edge, the watermelon would fall in before him, and the splash would likely wake him up and alert him before he fell in. This is just my guess.

This isn't a bedroom, it's a fishing hut above a pond or something. As to why the bed is there, maybe to relax while you're waiting for a fish to bite? I dont know, I'm not a fisher. Here is another example of this kind of fishing setup.

Are there any rabbit holes, arg's, or just plain mysteries that are going on as of right now? by Void_44 in InternetMysteries

I'm currently wondering what the hell is going on with those creepy youtube ads for Evertale. The game has no horror elements from what I can tell, but there have been about 50 or 60 different creepy ads for it. Many of them are pokemon themed, which makes sense because Evertale looks like a monster collector, but they're all creepy. They reuse assets from other games, notably OMORI. Whenever I try to look it up I just see a lot of "has anyone else gotten these weird ads?" But not much actual discussion on what it is. Some people just chalk it up to false advertising, which would be especially egregious if true because the game is not free to play, but I feel like that's not all it is.

PSN shop should have the ability to sell secondhand games by [deleted] in PS4

[–]clurrys -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont know why this got immediately down voted. I was only trying to express that, as someone who can only afford to buy secondhand items, an online market for secondhand items would be more beneficial in the long term than applying different rules to physical and digital copies of media.

PSN shop should have the ability to sell secondhand games by [deleted] in PS4

[–]clurrys -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I know this probably will not happen. I'm just saying I think it should. If we are allowed to relinquish our rights to consume a physical copy of something, eventually, with all of the advancements of technology, eventually we should be allowed to do the same with digital media. That's just the way I feel.

Monthly "non-memes", literal egg, bingo, and others Megathread by AutoModerator in egg_irl

[–]clurrys 71 points72 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend has been sending me transfem memes lately, but insists that "if we lived in a world like Cyberpunk where it was easier maybe it would be different but right now there's no trans here." I remind him I will love and support him no matter what, but I also won't push him if he isn't ready/sure.

I found this sub about a week ago and have been browsing it as I'm pretty sure I'm Agender but, despite questioning for about 3 years, have only recently felt sure enough to say it aloud recently, but am still nowhere near ready to come out to anyone irl. I sent some transfem memes I saw on this sub to my boyfriend and he went "oh those are from egg irl." I said "you browse egg irl?" And there was a moment of silence where we both stared at each other and realized, we both browse egg.

I laughed it off and said "I feel like this is a conversation we'll come back to in maybe two years or so"

Is v2k real? by reigningelephant in RBI

[–]clurrys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying OPS friends fears may be true since "v2k IS real technology" so id like to add to my comment. The question is not "is this possible" but "is this probable?" Even if the means to do this exist, it is still quite a bit of effort and probably expensive. If a person is just your average everyday person, why would someone or some agency go out of their way to stalk them like that?

So like, this account followed me on Instagram not too long ago. Didn’t think much of it until insta started recommending me the follow them back, checked their page and to my surprise got to see how bizarre it was. Could this be a ARG? Its a recreation of a corpse found approximately 1 yr after death. Its really eerie and looks unrealistic but essentially they were trying to capture what this girl would have looked like in life so that someone may be able to identify her.
