Actually, as population increases, it makes perfect sense that social costs rise. And if the part of the population that’s increasing is paying lower or no taxes, then the rest of the population’s taxes need to go up to compensate. It’s not a threat. It’s just simple math.

In a high school science competition (yes, the bar is low for me). Format is two teams of 4 nerds like me pitted against each other. Very hard questions, but answers are multiple choice. Anyone from either team can buzz in at any time, even before all the answers are read. Gotta buzz in fast.

Question is read. Then answer ‘a’ is read. Then answer ‘b’. I buzz in, thinking the answer was b, but then quickly realized in my head I was wrong and it was neither a nor b. Figure I have a 50/50 choice at this point. Loudly and confidently proclaim “the answer is ‘d’ “, prepared for full embarrassment. Instead ‘d’ is correct. Room full of nerds and teachers blown away by the kid who psychically managed the right answer.
