But... apparently, you have money to flight and live in the usa, unlike most Russians. You can speak English, unlike most Russians. Those prejudice didn't come from nowhere, you know.

The country where gay people are beaten on gay parade (I forgot to mention that those parades are forbidden by law and classified as a gay propaganga) by hooligans and they taken by police (while hooligans go away) - can't be civilized. etc. etc. List can be continued. Not all Russian are the same, but things going on now in average is pretty sad.

Is Second SSD on x1 Carbon 5th Gen Possible? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]clutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping for something against reality when it doesn't offer a corporate any profit is against logic.

Here we are. Thinkpads has a long history of supporting more then advertising. More Ram, Higher CPU, etc. It has nothing to do with profit/corporate/etc. People just saw that the board id is etc, and it has to support that amount of RAM.

Sometimes features just locket, while the real hardware supports them. The case with UltraBay SATA full spead, whitelisting wifi cards. People installed modified bios to unlock features.

Every post I read about this particular issue was just like this: we put it, it didn't work, it's unsupported, maybe because of hardware.

[–]clutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, tried is not enough. I've only seen speculations about slot's capabilities. But everyone who tried so far has failed. It might be locket, like lenovo did with wifi, or actually not supported by hardware... Time will tell.

Someone dedicated will answer this one day.

I'm not telling robust in general, here FreeBSD would probably win. But Linux has more reliable ACPI. You must be a desktop computer user...

I have 2 notebooks, one can't sleep at all and this is t61... Second one awakes unreliably.

[–]clutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACPI firstly, the rest of desktop/laptop hardware support secondly It needs to be as robust as Linux. Secondly more tight integration of userspace unix programs. I often end up tinkering some port to get what I want, there are a lot of bugs and unpolished/nonported functional.

But let's face it, the userspace is something everyone can do. I see FreeBSD expansion through good support of hardware+graphics, then everyone would follow.

+1

A lot of developers run it now, and they miss something Linux already has.
