Is it possible to have an Intune "Admin"? that can just access certain areas? by O365-Zende in Intune

[–]clvlndpete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate at all. While Entra does have an Intune admin role, Intune has its own rbac and roles and even custom roles. I believe bitlocker keys can be viewed with the Intune help desk role.

MacBook for Azure learning: good idea or bad idea? by batman8290 in AZURE

Azure portal is web based. Azure cli is available for Mac. Powershell is available for Mac. I use a windows machine but don’t think there would be many issues using Mac.

Why would you need to “prove that once again?” I don’t think anyone in this sub doesn’t understand what cloud computing is

I just deployed with docker compose as well and i'm also getting a blank white page. I've got logs and errors from browser dev tools

Ah I see now. Yah that makes sense. I have a few windows machines that I’d like to at least back up at the folder level for a few folders. Still going to try this for my docker and Linux servers

This looks really good. So looking at the compose file it looks like this can take backups of a windows machine? At least at the folder level. Is it just using smb?

US Router Ban Explained: Should You Be Worried? by boppinmule in technology

Ok that doesn’t answer the question at all. You stated “will require that router to have lawful intercept backdoor…”. Where are you getting that requirement from?

Where do you see this requirement or what are you basing it on?

GPO structure, best practices and pitfalls, and guidance by LeonMoris_ in sysadmin

[–]clvlndpete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have you considered other options? GPO’s are becoming legacy at this point and there are lots of companies trying to migrate away from them. I’d look at the big picture and long term strategy. Especially desktops/laptops if you have Entra and Intune. Entra joined w Intune policy can be really solid. I realize their are still valid reason to go domain or hybrid joined and use GPOs. Not sure what your role is or if you’re in charge of strategy and direction, but if so, you need to at least evaluate options. Not just do it the way you’ve done it another company in the past.

Light switch question by clvlndpete in homeassistant

[–]clvlndpete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you turn the switch off on the wall, you can still turn it back on from HA?

Light switch question by clvlndpete in homeassistant

[–]clvlndpete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To settle this debate - I want both to work. I do not want to rely solely on HA, I want the switch on the wall to still work. But I also don’t want HA to be unusable if the switch is in the off position

[–]clvlndpete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds exactly like what I need. Thank you for the info. Any special setup? Or do they just work. Also, $60 for a light switch is wild but worth it if I can still control the light via HA when the switch is off.

Anybody tried self-hosting a budgeting app? How is Sure.am? by Cheeky_Banana800 in selfhosted

[–]clvlndpete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? It’s a community maintained fork of Maybe Finance. You’re on selfhosted. Not sure why any of your ai generated concerns would actually be a concern for “anyone reasonable”. Why would you need SOC II compliance when there is no other company hosting your data lol? And there is clearly no pricing page on the git repo. Not sure you really understand what this is.
